Please don't be taken in by the many phony tech support scams going around. Please don't allow a stranger from the internet to access your computer. They can be quite convincing that your computer has all sorts of issues. These are scams nonetheless. Anything that pops up from your web browser telling you to dial so and so number because your computer is causing issues is a scam!

I recommend delaying Windows updates for at least 7 days when you have the option. (Go to settings then update & security to see option to pause updates) This gives time for bad updates to be discovered and corrected. When you do allow updates be sure to let them install without interruption.

Your computer won't instantly turn into a paperweight but it will start becoming more vulnerable on the Internet. I can upgrade your Windows 7 computer to Windows 10 for $45. You could also give new speed and life to that computer by upgrading that mechanical hard drive to a much faster solid state hard drive. Contact me for details.

I have recently run into a common issue crashing several Windows computers. The computer is brought into my shop with the complaint of constant crashes. I cleanup the system test it out and no issues. The customer brings it home and the crashing returns. Long story short, one was crashing because of a malfunctioning printer connected via USB cable. Another crashing because of a faulty wired mouse and a third crashing because of a faulty wireless USB adapter. USB devices can go bad and cause Windows to crash or blue screen!
