Spybot New Test message today. See the image below.

Spybot Search & Destroy is one of the cleanup programs that we use and the free version may have been installed on your computer.

Today we saw a popup message on the computer that said, "This is a test". This was just a message sent out by mistake from Spybot's team that you can ignore. Just click to close the message and it should not reappear.

This was not some remote hacker trying to gain access to your computer.

We apologize for any confusion on behalf of Safer-Networking (the company that wrote Spybot).

Have a great day!

Do you use Microsoft Publisher?
If so, you need to read this.

NOTE: Some of you with Office 365 may have already lost your ability to use Publisher for editing files.

In October 2026, Microsoft Publisher will reach its end of life. After that time, it will no longer be included in Microsoft 365 and existing on-premises suites will no longer be supported. Microsoft 365 subscribers will no longer be able to open or edit Publisher files in Publisher. Until then, support for Publisher will continue and users can expect the same experience as today.

Many common Publisher scenarios—including creating professionally branded templates, printing envelopes and labels, and producing customized calendars, business cards, and programs—are already available in other Microsoft 365 apps such as Word and PowerPoint. For recommendations on where to start common Publisher scenarios, see below. You can also find a wide array of customizable templates at Microsoft Create.

Do you have Publisher *.pub) files?
The biggest challenge this retirement creates is losing easy access to years of Publisher documents. Unlike Word's .docx format or Excel's .xlsx, Publisher's proprietary .pub format has never been widely adopted by other applications. While a handful of third-party tools can import some Publisher files, there is no guarantee that every layout, font, or design element will survive the conversion.

That's why it's worth locating your Publisher files now rather than waiting until you suddenly need one. Search your computer and any backups for *.pub, making sure you don't forget to check OneDrive or other cloud storage, external hard drives, network folders, and old PC backups.

If you only need to preserve the appearance of a .pub document, export it as a PDF while Publisher is still available. A PDF keeps the page layout, fonts, graphics, and formatting intact, making it ideal for documents you may want to reference or print in the future.

If you later realize you need to edit the file, you should export the Publisher file to Word. It won't be pixel-perfect, but it beats starting from scratch.

Microsoft Publisher will no longer be supported after October 2026

Due to service disruptions and power flickering caused by the wind, we have decided to close early this evening. Continuing operations under these conditions may compromise our equipment and potentially damage customer devices. We will resume normal business hours tomorrow (Friday 6/19) from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Sorry for any inconvenience.

As spring is now in full swing, we would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to all of our valued customers, whether you’re a new, returning, or simply inquiring about our services and/or recycling e-waste materials. Your support and continued patronage are greatly appreciated.

We’d also like to mention that have noticed an increase in business this week and wanted to kindly remind everyone that our standard turnaround time remains to be within a few business days from drop off. We can’t not guarantee diagnostic and/or repairs will be done sooner than that. However, we strive to diagnose and repair issues promptly and we greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding in this regard.

Lastly, a huge thank you to everyone who’s left us reviews. Your feedback is why we’ve been able to earn our rating and continue to grow — we couldn’t do it without you.

We will be closed on Monday 5/25 for Memorial Day. We hope everyone has a great weekend and we will be open again Tuesday 5/26 normal hours.

Do you use the Snipping Tool in Windows to take screenshots?

There is a new feature that automatically saves the screenshot in a folder in your pictures folder.

Screenshots taken with the Snipping Tool are typically saved in the "Screenshots" folder located within your "Pictures" library on Windows.

The folder is automatically setup by default to be located at C:\"yourusername"\Pictures\Screenshots

I find this very helpful especially when taking more than one.
