I am often asked, "What is a good internet provider," or "What do you think of Frontier Internet. I always answer that Frontier Internet is not a good provider. I have seen for years the problems people have with the lack of reliability; but the support is even worse. Last Thursday, a client contacted me about the internet not working. I went to the home Friday morning. The client had already talked to their support and wasn't sure of the problem. I did troubleshooting and it looked like an outage. I checked outage maps and Frontier's status page which all said no outage in the area. So, I initiated a chat with the client's phone, which resulted in them saying they had told the client that it looked like a line problem and a tech would be sent to check it the next morning. Next morning came. No tech. The client contacted them again and was told techs were working on a line problem. It would be fixed in 24-48 hours. The client needs the internet for monitoring health-related needs. In repeated attempts at getting a resolution since then, the client is told it will be resolved in 24-48 hours. It is now the 6th day since the client contacted me and still no resolution. The outage maps I checked all, except for one, show no problems in the area. The one that shows problems indicates it is affecting multiple people in Weirton.
If this was a one-off event, I could maybe excuse the outage; but not the support. But, in my line of work, I have seen this multiple times with Frontier Internet. Their service is mediocre. Their support is awful.
