Before choosing a full-color book interior, it helps to ask one simple question:
Does the reader need color to understand or experience the book fully?
For some books, color is essential. Children’s books, cookbooks, or nonfiction with meaningful charts and visuals may need color to serve the reader well.
For many fiction and nonfiction books, though, black-and-white printing may be the more practical and affordable choice.
