Think a little extra grease helps protect your ECM? It might be doing the opposite.

Cummins Celect and Celect Plus ECMs rely on precise electrical connections across 28-pin connectors. While dielectric grease can help protect against moisture, too much—or the wrong type—can actually interfere with proper contact.

We’ve seen cases where excessive grease, bent pins, or worn connectors caused intermittent issues that looked like ECM failure. In reality, the problem was in the connection, not the module itself.
