The best AV system in a museum or performance space is the one guests never notice. Speakers, projection, and control systems have to work at a professional level while staying invisible to the architecture and the experience around them.

Washington Professional Systems specializes in exactly that kind of integration — building-wide audio and video engineered to disappear into fabric, walls, and ceilings rather than compete with the design around it.

A slot machine and a poker table can't share a volume k**b. Every space in a hospitality venue — the gaming floor, the bar, the ballroom, the boardroom — needs its own acoustic environment, controlled independently, without one bleeding into the next.

Washington Professional Systems designs zoned audio and video systems that let staff dial in each space on its own terms, and give interior designers the freedom to rearrange a room without ripping out the AV behind it.

Live events can't wait for an amplifier to boot back up. When power drops from grid to generator, most networked amplifier systems take a minute or more to recover — an eternity in a stadium bowl.

Washington Professional Systems designs audio systems that skip that gap entirely: battery-backed digital signal processing feeds analog audio straight to generator-powered amplifiers, so sound recovers in seconds, not minutes. Same engineering logic whether the venue is a 20,000-seat stadium or a single ballroom — redundancy has to be built into the signal path itself, not bolted on after.

Pictured: DC United's Audi Field, running an isolated fiber-based Q-Sys network for distribution and processing, 130,000W of amplifier power across the bowl, and a 16,700W ancillary system whose analog paths run in parallel with primary and secondary digital.

WPS recently had the opportunity to attend the L-Acoustics Keynote at the iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

It was an inspiring look at the future of live sound, including the introduction of the new L1 large-format sound system, CS1 cardioid subwoofer, and Source Intelligence technology.

Beyond the product announcements, the keynote reinforced something we believe deeply at WPS: great sound connects people. Whether in a concert venue, house of worship, corporate environment, theater, or public gathering space, audio should be clear, powerful, controlled, and designed around the experience of the audience.

The Washington Professional Systems team recently visited d&b audiotechnik USA for a hands-on product workshop — and it was time well spent.

We got to dig into two standout tools: Array Calc — room modeling software that lets you import a drawing, place speaker arrays, and generate a color-coded coverage heat map. No guesswork, just clarity before a single cable is run.

R1 — their DSP and amp deployment software for real-time system control in the field. Staying sharp on the latest technology is how we deliver better results for our clients. Grateful for the knowledge and proud to bring it back to every project we touch.

Curious if d&b audiotechnik is what is missing from your room/venue? Let's chat!

At Cactus Club Cafe Miami, the WPS team delivered an integrated AV system designed to support a high-energy hospitality environment while maintaining a clean, unobtrusive aesthetic. ✨

The project featured a strong d&b audiotechnik foundation, including 44S ultra-compact loudspeakers, 12S-SUB installation subwoofers, and 5D Dante amplifiers, paired with QSC Q-SYS Core 8 Flex processing and amplification for flexible system control and networked audio management. 🎶

To support video distribution and presentation throughout the space, the system also incorporatedWyreStorm Technologies NetworkHD AV-over-IP, LG commercial displays, projection, Da-Lite projection screens, and Shure SLX-D wireless.

The result is a coordinated audio, video, and control ecosystem built to deliver performance, flexibility, and reliability in a visually refined venue. 🥂

Every successful show starts with a solid load-in 💪

Throwback to crane day at . Two massive 189” 16:10 .lite Advantage projection screens were lifted into two beautiful new studios at the Ford’s Theatre Society. The scale is impressive, and the clean install makes them feel like they’re floating in the room. 😍
