Adding Equipment?
Don’t Add Software Complexity

One of the most common challenges we see in fabrication shops starts with what seems like a simple decision: purchasing a new machine and accepting the software that comes with it.

One of the most common challenges we see in fabrication shops often starts with what seems like a simple decision: purchasing a new laser, punch, or plasma machine and using the CAD/CAM software offered by the machine vendor.

Since the software is “included,” it can feel like the logical path forward. But that software may not be as free—or as flexible—as it appears.

The Hidden Cost of OEM Software

Whether it is a fiber laser running CypCut or another OEM software package supplied with the machine, the system may get you up and running. Over time, however, many manufacturers discover that OEM software is designed primarily around one machine, not the entire shop.

Most fabrication operations are not built around a single machine.
As equipment is added, shops can quickly find themselves managing multiple CAD/CAM systems that do not connect with one another. That can lead to duplicated programming, inconsistent workflows, additional training, limited file accessibility, and reduced visibility across production.

Striker Systems Is Different

With Striker CAD/CAM, manufacturers can program multiple cutting and punching machines from a single platform, helping standardize processes across the operation. Striker supports equipment from a wide range of machine manufacturers and may be able to support newly added equipment through the implementation of a machine driver.

That means your software investment can stay with your shop as your equipment changes.

Think Beyond the Machine

Before committing to OEM CAD/CAM software, ask whether it supports your long-term manufacturing goals—not just the machine being installed today.
Because real-world manufacturing is not built around one machine. Your software should not be either.

Adding new equipment? Talk to Striker Systems first. We may already support it—or be able to help bring it into your existing Striker workflow.

Today, we pause to reflect on Good Friday—a day of remembrance, sacrifice, and hope.

It’s a time to slow down, appreciate what matters most, and spend meaningful moments with those closest to us.

In observance of the holiday, Striker Systems will be closed on Good Friday and will reopen on Monday, April 6th.

Wishing you a peaceful and reflective Good Friday.

How much material are you losing to inefficient nesting?

Advanced CNC nesting isn’t just about layout—it’s about driving real results across your entire operation.

With the right approach, you can:
✔ Reduce scrap
✔ Increase material yield
✔ Improve cut sequencing
✔ Streamline your workflow

The difference? Lower costs, faster throughput, and more consistent production.

STRIKER CAD/CAM gives you the tools to turn nesting into a competitive advantage—not just a programming step.
