Making some good progress on the Eddie chassis I will be using for mocking up new truck designs. The motor is pretty much done, but I am still looking to add fuel pump, steering pump, overflow tube from the valve cover and throttle linkage and fuel lines to the injector hat. IF YOU HAVE ANY CLEAR AND CLOSE UP PHOTOS OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF A MOTOR LIKE THIS PLEASE SEND THEM MY WAY. It would be greatly appreciated. Much love! 🙏🏼

WORK IN PROGRESS: I’ve been meaning to step up my “ new truck rendering” game for a while now but have never got around to it. So I spent the day creating a far more detailed and 3-D design. Compare this new chassis to what I have been using previously, and you can see a huge difference. Still lots more details to add, including the motor, but I’m looking forward to that part! Stay tuned. ☮️🤘🏼

After the fiberglass work was done the whole body was then covered with auto body filler. Applying it to all the curved surfaces was a challenge. I’m better at it now than then but it was a pain in the ass to say the least. A month of after school/work sanding followed before it was smooth enough to prime. That part of the process is always so gratifying, seeing all the mottled colored become uniform. A light wet sanding, and it was all done. The truck debuted in Houston, TX. I was shocked when I saw the truck for the first time…because the first body ran on the truck was not a fiberglass replica of what I built, it was the actual plug. So when Chris wrecked it (which we all knew was going to happen) all the glue, foam, cardboard, wood, Bondo, and hard work came flying out onto the floor of the stadium. So much for keeping the original. It was toast. I am looking forward to sharing the latest build we finished last month with you all soon. So stay tuned. It’s going to be awesome. Unlike anything you’ve seen on a monster truck before. 🤘🏼

I was thrilled this morning to come across an old PowerPoint I put together 20 years ago documenting the building of Brutus in my much-too-small garage back in scratchass Kansas. It started with the original S-10 cab which I sturdied up with 2x4s and put on casters so I could move it in that small space. Next was gluing taxidermy foam blocks over the whole thing before sculpting it with a variety of tools. Fiberglass mat and resin was then laid on when the foam was done. This made the entire body strong and sturdy, which was necessary to handle all the sanding to follow. I swore I would never do a project like that ever again…but 19 years later and 5 more projects like this in the books, I have grown to love the process of seeing an idea in paper come to life and fly through the air. Pretty cool stuff I get to do for a living. More to come in the following days…

A new kick ass illustration and logo for GRAFFIXCO Co. in Kansas. Inspired by Rat Fink since birth, this was a total blast to create and illustrate. I’ve never done a modified car before and I think it turned out pretty neat. @ Salida, Colorado

I have been more than derelict in my duty to keep this account up to date this year, so sorry for the absence. Through this pandemic things have certainly slowed, but I want to thank the amazing community of monster truck drivers, promoters, fans, and RC enthusiasts for keeping my lights on. It means more than you know. This design is for The Ripper monster truck out of New York. Thanks for the wok Ryan! What I love about each new project is not knowing where a design is going to lead me,...and a lot of the time it ends up in places I could never predict. @ Golden, Colorado

In 2010 I bicycled the length of Africa. In Chitimba Beach, Malawi, I met Kizito, a wood carver. A few months ago he lost his carving business and lots of beautiful wood carvings to a fire. If you would like to help me help him rebuild it would mean a lot.

Below is a link to a GoFundMe page I have created. Thank you.
