Decision logic programming was tough… until low-code BRMS arrived.

Software development used to be hard:
With perforated cards, development and modification processes used to take years of work by people with Ph.D. degrees.
The COBOL development process used to take many months and was done by people with computer science master’s degrees.
When faced with Java or .NET development, it can take a year or more, and modifications take months of work by skilled software developers.

Years of experience transformed into a new way of programming: configuration of visual metaphors or low-code systems. For business decision-making automation such systems are called Business Rules Management Systems or BRMS. However, it is still challenging to avoid scripting in BRMS systems.

One of our projects for banks.

The goal was to update a loan application decision platform and provide the Risk Team with the capability of changing rules and models with no IT Team support. In addition, our client was impressed with the low-code capabilities of ProcessMIX platform and therefore decided to include all the necessary data transformations and calculations into the project.

With ProcessMIX we can configure any business rules and scorecards as well as ETLs, complex calculations, and ML models.

The client’s goals were achieved:
▪️ In Phase 1, we implemented decision strategies for unsecured consumer lending (cash loans, POS loans, and credit cards), and other consumer lending products will be automated in later phases.
▪️ A significant portion of loan applications are now approved or rejected automatically.
▪️ The Risk Team is able to configure the rules in ProcessMIX independently.
▪️ Average volumes processed are approximately 13,000 loan applications per month.
