The brand is Chomps founded by Pete Maldonado and Rashid Ali. They sell meat sticks without the sugar and the junk.

Pete and Rashid looked at the meat stick market and realized there was no healthy grab-and-go option. So they built one — grass-fed meat, nothing artificial, in a single-serve stick you can toss in a bag and eat anywhere.

Here are the three strategies behind their billion-dollar run.

First, certifications. Instead of burning cash on ads, they got Whole30, keto, and gluten-free certified — because those badges are search terms people Google, instant trust, and exactly what retail buyers hunt for.

Second, real people made their ads. They sent free product to moms, nurses, teachers — and when someone posted, they’d boost that post from the person’s own account. That way it shows up in people’s feeds naturally and doesn’t read as an ad.

Third, retail feeds their website. Almost half their online customers first tried Chomps in a store — a free sample turns into a subscriber. The two grow each other.

Mélanie Masarin built a $50M brand selling non-alcoholic drinks — and never positioned it as a “fake” anything.

The brand: Ghia A Mediterranean aperitif that stands on its own.

Quit drinking. Tired of feeling left out. Made her own drink.

Everyone else sold “non-alcoholic gin” or “zero-proof beer.” Ghia refused to be an alternative. New category.

→ 92% of buyers still drink — marketed to “night off” people, not sober people
→ Burgundy bottle with a mushroom cap people voted against — she kept it
→ A product people argue about = a product people remember
→ Zero ads. A look so specific people posted it for free

$50M brand. No fake anything.

$2M to $125M in 4 years. Selling candy. 🍬

Tara Bosch built SmartSweets™ — low-sugar versions of your favorite gummies.

Obsessed with candy but hated all the sugar. Dropped out at 21. Bought a gummy-bear mold. Made her own.

Didn’t ask people to quit candy — just removed the sugar.

Printed sugar grams right on the front of the bag. Put it next to regular candy, not in the health aisle.

High-margin product → retailers happy to stock it. Bright, playful packaging like the candy you grew up with.

$2M year one → $125M by year four. Sold SmartSweets for $360M.

He made $1.5B selling soap to men — then got bought by the company he was beating.

The brand: Dr. Squatch. Natural soap for men.

Had psoriasis. Regular soap made it worse. No natural option for men existed.

Cold-pressed bars. Rugged scents. Then a 3-minute ad roasting chemical body wash → 100M+ views.

Sydney Sweeney collab — soap made with her real bathwater. Sold out instantly.

→ Website pushes bundles: $7 order → $40
→ Locks you into subscription (soap runs out monthly)
→ $5M to $100M in 2 years

Beat Axe so badly that Unilever (who owns Axe) bought them for $1.5B.

Chad Janis took AG1, mixed it with Goli, and turned it into a $1.2 billion brand.

The brand: Grüns

Greens supplements in gummy form.

Problem: greens powders work but taste terrible, messy, expensive. Nobody sticks with them.

Fix: AG1 nutrition in Goli candy format. One grab-and-go pack.

→ Subscription-first from day one
→ One-time price painful, subscription a no-brainer
→ Profitable in 14 months

Seeded hundreds of micro-influencers weekly — free product, affiliate commission.

$300M+/year. 10M gummies shipped daily. $1.2B exit to Unilever. Under 3 years

The brand: Graza

High-quality olive oil in bright green squeeze bottles.

Andrew visited his wife’s family in Spain. Fell in love with the olive oil. Brought it back home.

The real move? The packaging. Squeeze bottle instead of glass.

Sent them to food creators for free. Zero ad spend. Soon it was in every cooking video.

→ Subscribe-and-save for retention
→ Gifting option ships to multiple addresses
→ Small tactics that quietly stack revenue

$48M/year. 8,000+ stores. Three years. No ads.

They sell peanut butter in upside-down jars — and it’s becoming a cult brand.

The brand: One Trick Pony

They flew to Argentina. Fell in love with the peanut butter. Peanuts are native there — naturally sweeter.

Built their own. No sugar. No junk.

Sold the clean-ingredient story first. Nobody cared.

The real problem? Oil pooling on top. Endless stirring.

→ Designed a jar that sits upside down
→ Oil stays mixed. Never stir again.
→ That one fix = viral hit

They didn’t reinvent peanut butter. They fixed the jar.

Ian Blair and Robert Cardiff built a $10M brand in 18 months selling laundry pods.

The brand: Laundry Sauce Sauc

Detergent smells like detergent. Fake florals. Blue liquid. Boring jugs. Nobody cares.

He hired a perfumer instead of a chemist. Named the scents like colognes. Built aesthetic packaging.

Social media did the rest.

→ Scent quiz: 6 questions, perfumer picks for you
→ Subscribe & save is step 3 of buying — not a checkbox
→ Frequency suggested by household size

$10M. 18 months. No employees.

He didn’t make a better detergent. He made one people talk about.

The brand is and they make dissolvable cleaning capsules in reusable bottles.

Here’s how it works: you buy the bottle once. Fill it with tap water, drop in a capsule, shake, and you’ve got a full bottle of cleaner in 30 seconds.

→ Started in 2018 with one product

→ Now 20+ products covering every room in the house

→ Unlike most eco cleaners (which cost 70% more), Flopp is the same price as regular cleaners

→ How? They own the factory

→ Main markets: Spain and Latin America — with the entire EU ahead of them

Most eco brands charge a premium. Flopp proved you don’t have to.
