🎒Last month, part of our team embarked on a real marathon in Spain! The trailblazers of this Camino de Santiago route were , , and along with their loved ones, closely followed by , who set off on her own journey shortly after.
👣It wasn’t just about the kilometers; it was about finding meaning. Here is what resonated most with our travelers by their words:
🍀Spain amazed us with an incredible blend of warm sun and vibrant greenery. We were also struck by the local animals. They were so beautiful, roaming freely in the pastures without a shepherd in sight.
🫂The Camino is all about the people. When you walk for hours, conversations become more sincere, and colleagues reveal new sides of themselves. We shared life experiences and supported one another in everything from the last drop of water to keeping up motivation when legs were aching.
💦Our ritual for staying strong was simple: every 5 or 6 kilometers, we would stop at a cozy café for some “Aquarius” (a local isotonic drink). It became our little tradition for restoring energy and keeping our muscles going.
🥇Throughout the journey, we collected stamps in our pilgrim passports. While waiting for one, we met an incredible woman from Peru. It turned out her grandchildren were so worried about her that they made her wear a GPS tracker to follow her progress!
🤸♂️Once you cross the “midpoint,” your feelings change. Despite the exhaustion, as you reach the end, there is only one wish: for the road never to end. Passing signs like “The Last Village” or “The Last Forest” brought a touch of sadness because the Camino truly captures your heart.
🛣️Walking 115 km of the Camino de Santiago is a challenge you set for yourself every single day - and overcome. It is an opportunity to disconnect from all the everyday tasks and worries, a chance to enjoy nature, the singing of birds, and the greenery that accompanies you along the entire journey.
It was an experience we’d love to repeat!✨
