Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of people decided they'd had enough of being told how to run things.
That instinct never left. It's why most of the firm owners I know went out on their own in the first place. Not for the money. For the ability to make their own calls.
Worth remembering this week, somewhere between the grill and the fireworks: independence isn't something you win once. It's something you keep choosing, in a hundred small decisions about how you work.
Happy 4th. 🇺🇸
