For decades, the painting industry has relied on handwritten, time-consuming estimates. But what if you could walk into a job, snap a photo, and deliver a professional estimate before leaving the site?

That’s FIELDVUE.

Our AI-powered estimating tool transforms the process—turning hours of manual work into minutes. Fast. Accurate. Client-ready.

This isn’t the future of estimating. It’s here.

Painting is one of humanity’s oldest industries.

10,000 years ago, we coated our huts with lime and mud.

By the early 1700s, paint mills were grinding pigments in Boston.

In 1866, Sherwin-Williams enters the scene.

Then Benjamin Moore in 1883.
Valspar in 1906.
Behr in 1950.

By the early 21st century, homeowners were paying tens of thousands for professional-grade coatings that served the same purpose as 10,000 years prior: protection.

In 2025, FIELDVUE is creating the first technological leap in the industry since the industrial revolution by giving contractors what 10,000 years of painting never has: instant precision & insight at scale, all from an image.

The people I see pulling ahead right now aren’t necessarily the ones building the novel AI tools. They're moreso the ones quietly using the new tools to take back the hours everyone else is still losing.

FIELDVUE will be that tool for paint contractors, and it's coming late 2025.

Just wrapped a massive brick limewash project — and the results speak for themselves.

The finish was stellar, the client was thrilled, and the transformation was exemplary.

That said, I’ll be honest: we slightly underbid this one. Not in the red, but not totally on target.

Estimating exteriors like this can be a minefield of variables — surface condition, product absorption, crew pace, unique application techniques... Even with experience, margin misses still happen.

But soon, they won’t.

That’s one of the core reasons we’re building FIELDVUE — an AI-powered estimating engine that uses computer vision and real-world production data to reduce guesswork, reclaim time, and bring consistency to jobs like this.

Imagine scanning a jobsite photo and getting back:

Surface measurements

Scope detection

Material quantities

Pricing and labor targets tuned to your profit goals

A polished customer quote
in minutes, not hours.

It’s coming!

If you're a contractor tired of underbidding, overworking, second-guessing, and melting your time away on estimates — let’s talk.

We’re assembling our next wave of beta testers, industry advisors and early access users.

Estimating seems easy… until you try to teach it to a machine.

In Tampa this weekend with our COO and CTO, laying the groundwork for training FIELDVUE ’s AI model.

Every surface type, angle, lighting condition, prep level, and oddball edge case is a variable that must be accounted for, because all these little details influence how contractors price a job.

Our mission is to cut contractor estimating time from hours to minutes.

The Most Valuable Skill in 2025 Isn’t Technical—It’s High Agency

In every era of transformation—industrialization, aviation, the internet, mobile computing—there’s been a dividing line.

On one side: the passive observers. On the other: the builders.

The builders are what we call high-agency professionals.

They’re the ones who don’t just respond to change—they anticipate it, shape it, and use it to their advantage.

Today, as artificial intelligence reshapes industry after industry, the same dividing line is forming. And once again, it’s the high-agency professionals who will come out ahead.

What Is High Agency?
High agency isn’t a buzzword. It’s a mindset—and it’s the most valuable asset a professional can cultivate in 2025.

To be high agency means:

You don’t wait to be told what’s possible.
You question outdated systems and build better ones.
You don’t freeze in the face of uncertainty—you find leverage in it.
High-agency professionals are resourceful. They’re relentless. They’re dangerous in all the right ways.

Their operating philosophy? “If it can be done, I’ll find a way.”

A Brief History of High-Agency Thinking
Let’s be clear—this mindset is nothing new. It’s the invisible trait that’s driven every leap forward in history.

Industrial Revolution: Henry Ford didn’t just build cars. He reimagined how work itself should happen.

Aviation: The Wright brothers weren’t aeronautical engineers. They were bike mechanics. But they had agency—and they flew.

Internet Era: Jeff Bezos saw potential where others saw novelty. He didn’t build a bookstore. He built the infrastructure for a new way of doing business.

Smartphone Age: Steve Jobs took what fit in a room and put it in your pocket. Not because it was easy—because it was inevitable.

Each of these individuals stepped forward in moments of uncertainty. Not with certainty, but with intent. That’s high agency.

Now it’s AI’s turn. And the question is: what side of the line are you on?

Why High Agency Matters More Than Ever in 2025:

In a world moving this fast, standing still is sliding backward. The contractors, business owners, and leaders who thrive in this landscape will be those who are willing to rethink how things have always been done.

Manual estimating is one of the last remaining bottlenecks in the trades.

It consumes time.
It breeds human error.
It thwarts growth.

Contractors waste up to 10 hours per week on estimating. Across the industry, that’s 450 million hours a year.

What could you build with 10 more hours a week?

That’s what FIELDVUE gives back: not just time—but command over your business, your future, and your freedom.

The Antithesis of High Agency
It’s not always loud. Sometimes the opposite of high agency is just… comfort. Familiarity. Inertia.

Low-agency professionals:

Think of problems as immutable.
Blame inefficiencies on everything but the operator.
Resist change because "it's not how things ought to be".

Here’s the truth:

In this era of exponential change, comfort is a silent killer. Complacency isn’t a disadvantage—it’s a countdown to irrelevance.

There’s no safety in stagnation anymore. You’re either adapting—or you’re eroding.

FIELDVUE: Built for the High-Agency Professional

FIELDVUE wasn’t built for the masses. It was built for the builders. The forward-thinkers. The ones who ask what if? and then go make it tangible.

We’re not interested in selling software to people who aren’t ready. We’re here for the contractors who are.

The ones who know their time is too valuable to waste.
The ones who are tired of underbidding, overbidding, or guessing altogether.
The ones who want to work smarter, not just harder.

FIELDVUE is AI-powered estimating—fast, accurate, and integrated with the suppliers and workflows you already use.

But more than that, FIELDVUE is a flag in the ground for high-agency professionals. A signal that the future of contracting will be defined by those who lean in, not sit back.

A Final Thought
If you're reading this and thinking, “I want to be ahead, not behind”—you’re already high agency. You just need the right tools to match your mindset.

Let FIELDVUE be one of them.
