Can Customers Find You Before Summer Starts?

Summer is almost here, and people are already searching for places to shop, eat, stay, visit, and do business with.

The question is… when they search, are they finding YOU?
Because before customers ever walk through your doors, call your business, or send a message, they usually do one thing first:
They search online.

And if your website isn’t showing up on Google, loads too slowly, or isn’t mobile-friendly, there’s a good chance those customers are ending up with your competitors instead.

Summer traffic doesn’t magically appear overnight. Businesses that see the biggest boost during busy season are usually the ones that prepared ahead of time with strong SEO, fast websites, updated content, and a smooth user experience.

Think of your website like a storefront on the busiest street in town. If customers can’t find it, can’t access it easily, or don’t like what they see, they’ll keep moving.

At Thoroughbred Innovations, we help businesses get ahead before the summer rush with websites built for speed, visibility, and real results.

Because when summer starts heating up…
your website should already be working hard for you.

Be honest—if someone searched for your business today, would they find you easily?

This Day in History — May 27, 1937

On this day in 1937, one of the most famous landmarks in the world officially opened: the Golden Gate Bridge.

But interestingly enough, the bridge’s very first day wasn’t for cars at all—it was exclusively for pedestrians! Nearly 200,000 people walked, ran, danced, and celebrated across the bridge to mark its completion. The following day, May 28, the bridge officially opened to vehicle traffic, with President Franklin D. Roosevelt ceremonially opening it from the White House using a telegraph key.

At the time of its completion, the Golden Gate Bridge was both the longest and tallest suspension bridge in the world, records it held until 1964 and 1998 respectively. Today, it remains one of the most recognizable symbols of San Francisco and has even been named one of the Wonders of the Modern World.

And it’s still busy. REALLY busy.

Nearly 40 million vehicles and 1.5 million pedestrians cross the bridge every single year, making it one of the busiest bridges in the world.

And honestly… websites and bridges have a lot in common.

The Golden Gate Bridge wouldn’t still be standing after 89 years without a strong foundation and constant upkeep. Your website works the same way.

You can build a beautiful, user-friendly, SEO-ready website—but if you ignore software updates, broken links, outdated plugins, keyword tracking, and changing Google algorithms, your rankings can slowly collapse over time.

Strong foundations matter. Maintenance matters. Visibility matters. And just like the Golden Gate Bridge continues attracting visitors year after year because of its location, beauty, and reliability, a well-maintained website keeps customers coming back too.

If your website’s foundation needs a little reinforcement, Thoroughbred Innovations is here to help.

Have you ever visited the Golden Gate Bridge? What was your experience like?

Summer Traffic Is Coming… Is Your Website Mobile-Ready?

Summer is right around the corner, and people are already searching, planning, booking, shopping, and comparing businesses on the go.

And where are they doing most of that searching?
On their phones.

Whether someone is looking for a restaurant, booking a service, shopping for summer supplies, planning a trip, or trying to find a local business nearby, their phone is usually the first place they turn.

That means your website needs to do more than just “exist.” It needs to load quickly, look great on smaller screens, be easy to navigate, and help customers find what they need without frustration.

Because if your site is slow, hard to read, or difficult to use on mobile, customers won’t wait around. They’ll tap back, move on, and choose someone else.

At Thoroughbred Innovations, we help businesses prepare for busy seasons with websites built for speed, mobile performance, SEO, and real results.

Summer traffic is already warming up. Let’s make sure your website is ready to handle it.

Be honest… when was the last time you checked your website on your phone?

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer or a long weekend—it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Their courage, selflessness, and dedication will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends today, we also take a moment to recognize the heroes who are no longer with us and the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

From all of us at Thoroughbred Innovations, thank you to all who have served, and especially to those who gave everything for our nation.

We hope everyone has a safe, peaceful, and meaningful Memorial Day.

This Day in History — May 24, 1985

On this day in 1985, the company that would eventually become one of the biggest names in Internet history was officially founded: AOL.

But AOL’s story actually began a little earlier. In 1983, co-founder Steve Case started a company called Control Video Corporation, whose main product was an online gaming service for the Atari 2600 called GameLine. Subscribers could temporarily download games and even keep track of high scores—pretty futuristic for the early 80s! Unfortunately, the company struggled financially and eventually declared bankruptcy.

In 1985, the company reorganized as Quantum Computer Services, focusing on online services for niche computer systems. Then in 1989, it adopted the name we all remember today: America Online.
And from there? AOL exploded in popularity.

Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, AOL became the gateway to the Internet for millions of households around the world. Free trial floppy disks and CDs showed up everywhere—mailboxes, stores, magazines, cereal boxes… honestly, the Internet practically arrived in your mailbox back then.

AOL produced over 1 BILLION disks during the 90s, and at its peak, reportedly accounted for nearly HALF of the world’s total CD production.

For many people, AOL was the Internet.

Of course, using dial-up Internet came with its own memories. The iconic startup sound. The legendary “You’ve got mail!” greeting. Not being able to use the phone and the Internet at the same time. Hearing incoming calls through the computer speakers. And waiting several minutes just for a single webpage to load.

Compared to today’s fast wireless Internet and 5G connections, it seems ancient—but at the time, dial-up was revolutionary. AOL helped turn the Internet from a niche hobby into something families used every day.

While AOL has changed ownership many times over the years and its dial-up era finally ended in September 2025, its nostalgic legacy still lives on. Believe it or not, AOL floppy disks and CDs are displayed in museums today—and collectors still buy them online.

Happy 41st birthday to one of the companies that helped bring the Internet into homes around the world!

Did you use AOL? Do you still remember the startup sound… or maybe even have an old AOL CD laying around somewhere?

Graduate Into Higher Rankings!

Graduation season is here—a time for moving forward, leveling up, and preparing for bigger opportunities ahead.

But while students are graduating…
is your website ready to move up too?

Because the truth is, a lot of websites are still stuck in the digital equivalent of detention.

Slow load times
Poor mobile experience
Weak SEO
Outdated content

All of those can hold your business back from reaching its full potential online.

The good news? Your website doesn’t have to stay there.
With the right strategy, optimization, and design, your website can graduate into something faster, stronger, and built for real results. A high-performing website helps customers find you easier, trust you quicker, and choose your business over the competition.

At Thoroughbred Innovations, we help businesses level up with websites that are optimized for speed, visibility, and growth.

Because your website shouldn’t just “pass”…
it should make the honor roll.

If your website got a report card today, what grade would it earn?

This Day in History — May 21, 2005

On this day in 2005, thrill seekers officially got their first ride on one of the most legendary roller coasters ever built: Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure. When it opened, Kingda Ka shattered records as the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster, launching riders 456 feet into the air at an incredible 128 MPH.

And people LOVED it.

Crowds waited in line for HOURS just for a 28-second ride experience. Why? Because when something is fast, exciting, and unforgettable, people notice.

Kingda Ka held the title of world’s fastest roller coaster until 2010, when Formula Rossa opened in Abu Dhabi. But for years, Kingda Ka became a bucket-list attraction for coaster enthusiasts around the world, with people returning again and again until the coaster’s closure in 2024.

And honestly… web design and SEO are a lot like a roller coaster.

Rankings go up.
Rankings go down.
Speed matters.
Visibility matters even more.

Standing 456 feet tall, Kingda Ka could be seen from miles away—and your website should stand out online the same way. You want customers to NOTICE you when they search.

And just like no one waits hours to ride the teacups… nobody wants to stick around on a slow website either.

A fast, optimized, memorable website keeps people engaged and gives them a reason to come back.

So be honest… is your website more like Kingda Ka?
Or is it moving more like the merry-go-round?

If your website needs a little more speed, visibility, and excitement, Thoroughbred Innovations is here to help.
