Events return in earnest!

A business trip to the west coast allowed us to drop in on the Indy races at Long Beach. It didn’t take too long before comparisons were being made to what we all know as user events with the Grand Prix looking more like HPE Discover everywhere we turned.

Looking forward to the HPE and NonStop event season? For some it’s already started and as of now Margo and I have checked the boxes for a number of chapter and Rug events – will we see you there?

To better understand why we like events then check out our latest post to the NonStop community blog, Real Time View -

Chapters, RUGs, SIGs and Tech Forums – so many places, so many people, so much information!

Excited to read of a return to in-person events in 2022? I am and for good reason. It’s been soooo long since we met as a community. And so much has happened these past two years (with more yet to be announced) that you really don’t want to pass on this opportunity to be part of it all.

In case you haven’t heard, the two biggest events – HPE Discover 2022 and the NonStop Technical Boot Camp 2022 are both in-person and as a company, Pyalla will be attending in full. That’s right both Margo and I are already making plans so we hope to see you all. And to read even more about the return to in-person events across the regions, look for our update to be published shortly in NonStop Insider.

Consider This! You may be thinking about predictions made by others – all routine for this time of year – so let me add to what you may be considering.
Is it time to “cluster” clouds revisiting the prospect of fault tolerance at the application level? Given the fact that you are now on par with the industry and access a regulation five clouds hasn’t the run of cloud outages – network, software upgrades and worse – alarmed you to where you have become nervous over deploying mission critical applications on clouds?
Following my introductory post check out this part two in a two part series on NonStop ruling cloud instances –

I was there …

How many times have we remarked, oh yes, I was there! In these times however there is a little more to this than we might think. We are all living through a global pandemic and what we can say with certainty is that yes, we were there!

When buying computers, like buying cars, it’s the DNA!

Possibly a post that could only come from me or, at the very least, a small cross-section of NonStop community members! Surprised? Well, I suspect not …

But after reading an advertisement about HONDA published in numerous magazines of late, it got me thinking about the DNA of NonStop.

Yes you can say, the language used by the auto industry and that of tech do share similarities – check it out for yourself. You can read this latest post to the NonStop community blog, Real Time View by following the link below and yes, as always, feel free to comment, like, repost and more -

NonStop users - do you have a seat at the table?

Reading of a remark passed to me by a friend that simply said, “If you don’t have a seat at the table you may end up on the menu!” came at a time when electronic trading platforms were having difficulties. Are we as the NonStop community ensuring we are seated at the table whenever there are discussions about Core to Edge? Are we part of the discussion or are we subject to slicing and dicing over matters of importance to us?

More timely still is this all took place as we count down the hours to the virtual NonStop Technical Boot Camp (TBC) – the All-Digital Experience focused on all things HPE NonStop. There will be numerous presentations featuring the key attributes of NonStop but if we aren’t seated at the table, if we aren’t part of the conversation, are we missing out on opportunities to promote NonStop where it’s needed most – in 24 x 7 customer-facing mission critical interactions?

It’s getting cold outside … will it be warmer online?

As the first issue of its fifth year, this upcoming edition of NonStop Insider is worth it’s own post. For insights into what will be covered in this issue, it should prove a valuable read.

With the virtual TBC event drawing near, it’s also worth noting that it’s going to be a big occasion perhaps surpassing previous events in terms of registrations. Have you registered for this November event yet?

Working from home and doing overtime!

Want to read of the time I sailed across Monterey Bay on a Santa Cruz 70 yacht? Want to read of how I doused Bill Heil with a wave? Perhaps you would like to read of how we have completed thirteen years of blogging? Or, would you like to read more of the great job being done by today’s product management team.

When it comes to NonStop there are always challenges to be faced but as we near time for our annual event, the NonStop Technical Boot Camp (TBC) that will be a virtual affair this year, make sure you take in all that product management covers because I can tell you in advance, there will be a lot of ground covered and some of it may even be a surprise.

What insights are we looking forward to; transactions meet analytics!

In this latest post, I make reference to observations included in a regular column to the digital publication, NonStop Insider. In this upcoming September 2020 issue, the closing issue of the fourth year – yes, 48 issues with more than 800 articles now referencable - that will go live, shortly, make sure you find time to read HPE NonStop Corner – one partner’s perspective

When we begin a dialogue on NonStop and the “Age of Insight” that we first heard talked about during the 2020 HPE Discover Virtual Experience, it’s easy to see that the worlds of transactions and analytics are on an intersect course. But how best to combine them both is up for grabs! To read of my observations on all of this you will just have to read this latest post to the NonStop community blog, Real Time View -

Recapturing my youth? Mission failed!

Reminiscing over my failed year riding a superbike proved to be a good intro into superbikes, supercars and a super Indy 500 …
Even though I wrote the words about Dixon and Sato before the start of this year’s Indy 500 (completing the post only after the race ended) who would have guessed that once again, wiser heads prevailed.
