The digital streaming landscape just shifted in a massive way: Fox Corp. is acquiring Roku in a $22 billion deal.

As a professional working in the educational content and free streaming space, this isn't just standard corporate consolidation—it is a clear sign of where our industry is heading, and it brings huge opportunities for teams like ours.

Here is a quick look at what this acquisition means for the broader ecosystem and why the educational and FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) space should be paying close attention:

What Happened?
Fox is buying Roku for $160 per share, combining its major content arms (including Tubi) with Roku's hardware and operating system. The combined company will instantly become the third-largest player in U.S. television by share of viewing.

Why It Matters for Free Streaming & Education
The Dominance of FAST: Fox already owns Tubi, one of the biggest free streaming services. By buying the platform where millions of people actually discover content, Fox is doubling down on the ad-supported, free-to-consumer model. Free streaming is no longer an alternative; it is the main event.

Massive Distribution Pipeline: Roku reaches over 100 million global streaming households. For those of us creating educational and accessible programming, a more unified free ecosystem means fewer gatekeepers and a wider, more direct highway to reach lifelong learners right in their living rooms.

Next-Level Ad Infrastructure: By combining Fox’s advertising relationships with Roku's deep viewer data and ad-tech, the monetization potential for free platforms is going to skyrocket. This means more brand dollars flowing into free, specialized content.

What This Means for Us
For organizations focused on accessible, educational, and free media, this merger validates our entire blueprint. Audiences want high-quality, zero-cost content, and major media empires are restructuring billions of dollars to meet them there.

A larger, more sophisticated free streaming market creates a massive demand for diverse, meaningful content libraries. It is a fantastic time to be building in this space.

Breaking Education Barriers: How AI and FAST Channels are Democratizing Learning

The educational landscape is facing a massive shift, driven by two unstoppable forces: advanced AI and the explosive rise of Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST). EdTech is moving beyond classrooms and expensive subscription apps. It is entering the living room, making high-quality learning accessible to anyone with a connected TV.

Here is how the intersection of AI, EdTech, and free streaming is changing the game:

AI-Curated Content Channels: Algorithms analyze viewer preferences to dynamically bundle educational content, keeping learners engaged for longer sessions.

Interactive Living Room Learning: AI-driven overlays and voice commands turn passive TV viewing into active, gamified learning experiences.
Zero-Cost Accessibility: Ad-supported models remove financial barriers, delivering premium educational programming to global audiences completely free.

At SMB, we are pioneering this exact convergence. Our platform leverages cutting-edge AI to deliver personalized, interactive EdTech content directly through free streaming television. By combining the engagement power of TV with the intelligence of AI, we are making premium education universally accessible and highly scalable.

The future of learning isn't just smart—it's free and broadcasted!

Early childhood is the new frontier for digital literacy.

Children as young as five are navigating tablets, streaming videos, and playing online games. They are learning to swipe before they can read, which means they need to learn online safety at the exact same time.

Teaching digital safety to Kindergarteners through Second Graders isn't about fear. It is about building healthy habits from day one.

For parents and teachers, this summer is the perfect window to reset. As routines shift, take time to observe how your little ones interact with technology and start open conversations about screen boundaries.

At SMB Value Partners, Inc., we are currently developing a four-part online course series dedicated to keeping kids safe in the digital world. Our very first course (there will be four courses in total: K-2nd grade, 3rd & 4th grade, 5th & 6th grade, and 7th & 8th grade) focuses entirely on these early, foundational years.

Follow us today to join us on this development journey and get early access to resources that protect our youngest learners.

Can we please stop booing the future?

I watched a segment on Fox & Friends today covering the latest trend on college campuses, and frankly, it left me furious. Graduating classes at many universities are actively booing commencement speakers just for mentioning artificial intelligence.

When speakers point out that AI is the next Industrial Revolution, these kids erupt in jeers. They are playing the victim before their careers even start, terrified that tech will steal their jobs.

Here is my take on why this mindset is a fast track to unemployment:

(1) The Skill Gap is Real: Employers are desperate for AI-literate talent, but they can't find it.
(2) The Wrong Target: AI won't take your job, but a graduate or professional who actually knows how to use AI absolutely will.
(3) Academic Failure: Higher education institutions are failing these kids by penalizing AI use instead of teaching them how to build, leverage, and master it.
(4) Missed Opportunities: Instead of booing, these graduates should be actively educating themselves on how AI can optimize their industries, scale their productivity, and make them irreplaceable.

We are dealing with a massive failure of leadership. Parents and educators need to stop coddling this fear and start pushing young adults to become technologically savvy leaders who can drive the future, rather than victims who are left behind by it.

I know I'm riled up. What about you?

In a world that often feels like an "age of shadows"—navigating the fog of uncertainty, division, and isolation—we all find ourselves searching for a way home. Faith Illuminated is that way home. It is a sanctuary for the soul, built on the belief that while our paths are many, the light we seek is one.

Whether it is the quiet, rhythmic chanting of a Buddhist monk, the ancient, sacred liturgy of a Catholic Mass, the vibrant and joyous devotion of a Hindu festival, or the soul-stirring hymns of Baptist and Protestant traditions, we bring the world’s most profound wisdom directly to you. We sit down with the pastors, rabbis, imams, and elders who have dedicated their lives to the Divine to uncover the stories that connect us all.

You should tune in not just to observe, but to be transformed. In every conversation, you will find:
The Lantern of Hope: Discover how faith acts as a guide through life’s darkest valleys.
A Tapestry of Unity: See the beauty in our differences and the strength in our shared humanity.
A Moment of Peace: Escape the noise of the world for a spiritual deep-breath that leaves you refreshed and inspired.

Faith is more than a set of beliefs—it is a living, breathing lantern in the dark. Join us to see the world through the eyes of the devoted and find the light you need to illuminate your own journey.

Come for the stories, stay for the soul.

Stage-Gate vs. Agentic AI: The Future of New Product Development

For years I "slogged" through developing new products using the classic Stage-Gate process. And as impactful as this process has been, serving us well for years, it's SLOW, sequential, and resource-heavy. Multiple stages, lengthy gates, endless meetings, and manual analysis often stretch development cycles to 12–36 months.

Enter developing new products using Agentic AI. Instead of rigid, linear stages, autonomous AI agents can plan, research, analyze, simulate, and iterate — all in parallel. What used to take months can now happen in weeks.

Key advantages:
Cycle times reduced by 40-60%
Fewer stages and faster gates
Parallel ex*****on instead of sequential handoffs
Higher quality data-driven decisions with far less human effort
More iterations and lower risk

We’re shifting from traditional Stage-Gate to Stage-Gate Agentic — where AI handles the heavy lifting and humans focus on vision, strategy, and judgment.

Innovation speed is becoming a major competitive advantage.

SMB is upgrading from the traditional to the agentic-fueled development process. Fasten your seat belts! We're not "slogging" anymore.
