Hurricane season is coming. I use this to keep my refrigerator running if the power goes out. This model is affordable and will run a large home refrigerator for 10-12 hours.
In the cases where power could be out for days, it can be charged by your using a vehicle cigarette lighter outlet, or a small case power inverter. Don't wait until the next big storm warning to get one. Questions?

I've been seeing issues with Microsoft Edge recently, whereas my toolbar icons are missing, and automatic logins to websites aren't working. The issue is that Microsoft Edge is not closing its files properly. Here's an easy fix:

Adjust Microsoft Edge Settings
The primary cause for this issue is often the "Startup boost" feature and allowing background apps to run. To disable this, do the following:

Open Microsoft Edge and click the three-dots menu icon (...) in the top right corner.
Scroll down and Select Settings from the menu.
In the left sidebar, select System and performance.
Under the System section, ensure the 2 following options are turned Off:
(1) Startup boost
(2) Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed
Next:
Restart Microsoft Edge for the changes to take effect.

Windows 10-11 driver updates may stop hardware from working or cause minor issues. I've come across this and have heard from others with the same problem.

To disable Windows 11 automatic driver updates, you can either disable automatic driver installation via the Device Installation Settings in System Properties, or prevent Windows Update from including drivers using the Local Group Policy Editor by enabling the "Do not include drivers with Windows Update" policy. The latter method prevents drivers from being included in Windows Updates, while the former stops drivers from being automatically installed for new devices.
Method 1: Using Device Installation Settings (Disables automatic installation for new devices) This method stops Windows from automatically downloading and installing drivers for new hardware you connect.
Open Run: Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
Open System Properties: Type sysdm.cpl and click OK.
Go to Hardware Tab: In the System Properties window, click on the Hardware tab.
Open Device Installation Settings: Click the Device Installation Settings button.
Select "No": Choose the "No (your device might not work as expected)" option.
Save Changes: Click Save Changes and then OK to apply the settings.
Method 2: Using Group Policy Editor (Prevents drivers in Windows Updates) This method ensures that Windows Update will not offer driver updates along with security and feature updates.
Open Run: Press Windows key + R, then type gpedit.msc and click OK.
Navigate to Windows Update: In the Local Group Policy Editor, browse to the following path:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update.
Open Manage Updates: On the right side, find and double-click the "Manage updates offered from Windows Update" folder.
Disable Driver Updates: On the right side, double-click the "Do not include drivers with Windows Update" policy.
Enable the Policy: Select the Enabled option, then click Apply and OK.
Restart: Restart your computer to apply the changes.

More and more Facebook accounts are being hacked. Setting up 2 factor authentication has become a must. The only set back is that you need to have your phone with you in order to access your account from an unknown computer. But the couple of seconds that it takes to verify who you are, can save you weeks of trying to get access to your Facebook account while someone else is using your account.
To do this, follow these steps!
1: Go to your profile icon on the top right of the screen
2: click settings
3: click privacy
4: click learn more with Privacy Center
5: click Get Started
6: click Two-factor authentication

Windows 10 will end support on Oct 14th 2025. Which means no free support from Microsoft and also means that they stop creating Windows updates around Oct 14th or sometime shortly after. Now there is talk of a 3rd part patch that will install security updates to make using windows 10 secure. Also keep in mind that Microsoft Edge will not be installing updates either making it risky to use. But Google Chrome will likely be secure for a possible 1-3 years after that date. Microsoft recommends that all Windows 10 users upgrade to Windows 11, or they will have to pay for security updates on Windows 10 beyond its end-of-support date.

Here is some info on the 0patch:
"0patch" refers to a third-party software that allows users to continue receiving security updates for Windows 10 even after Microsoft officially ends support, by delivering small, "micro patches" directly to the running system memory to fix vulnerabilities without requiring a full system reboot; essentially keeping older Windows 10 systems somewhat secure even when they are no longer receiving official updates from Microsoft.
Key points about 0patch and Windows 10:
Micro patching:
Unlike traditional updates, 0patch applies tiny code patches directly into memory, allowing for quick security fixes without restarting the computer.
Post-End of Life Support:
0patch can provide security updates for Windows 10 even after Microsoft stops releasing official updates, making it a valuable tool for users who need to keep older systems running.
No System Modifications:
These "micropatches" do not modify any files on the system, only temporarily altering the running process in memory.
Potential Risks:
While 0patch can be a helpful tool, it is important to note that using third-party patching solutions like this can introduce potential security risks if not managed carefully.
