MCS has been extremely busy helping our customers setup and secure remote access for their employees. As the IT landscape is changing, please be aware of these things:
1 - Don't ever take a phone call from people you don't know who want to help you fix your computer.
2 - You'll likely start seeing a flood of phishing emails trying to get you to click on links and or asking you for information. Best rule of thumb, if you have any doubts, call the person to verify the email.
3 - It is more important than ever to separate business computers from personal computing. Only use business computers for business related web surfing and try not to click on too many random search results.
Keep these in mind as you'll see many criminals trying to take advantage of this trying situation we are all facing. The best defense is you following these best practices, keep your windows and programs up-to-date, and have a well configured security software (preferably next gen security software).
If you are a resident and want to ensure you are safe and protected, please call our office and talk to one of our techs who can provide a free quick security survey to see if you are well protected.
As a courtesy to our community and friends, please call us anytime you have a question regarding security and we will be glad to help point you in the right direction. This goes for businesses and residents alike.
Take care and surf safely!
