HigherGround

HigherGround HigherGround develops data collection, information storage, and analytics solutions that easily tran HigherGround began as a consulting company in 1973.

Its initial focus was telecommunications software for consultants following the Modified Final Judgment of 1984, which broke up the AT&T monopoly. The software continued to evolve into call accounting and billing solutions, and the company incorporated as Communication Advice and Design. Eventually the company partnered with Magnasync to automate the stopping and starting of reel-to-reel recorders

to protect attorney-client privilege in prisons. The company went on to design its first reporting tool in 1996 as well as its first recording product. Today, HigherGround produces two complete 3rd generation software products – Capture911 and Calibre – for various mission critical communications markets. We bring peace of mind with mission critical technology solutions. Our solutions include installation and ongoing support. We care about our customers and their needs and we continuously strive to exceed our customers' expectations. We practice transparent and candid communications both internally and externally. This is of utmost importance to us – we say what we will do and do what we say. This allows our team and customers to thrive. At HigherGround we continually incorporate technology changes and new trends. By supporting our customers, we gain an understanding of their current and future needs, which enables us to provide our customers with advanced solutions when they need it.

Officers do not need more noise. They need usable context.

When responding to an emergency, access to the right information can shape everything that follows.

Live911 helps agencies give responding personnel direct access to live emergency call audio, so they can:
assess urgency sooner
better understand potential risk
coordinate with greater awareness while dispatch continues managing the call

The goal is not more information for the sake of more information.
It’s better context—delivered in time to help responders make better decisions.

“This system works for the smallest agency or it can work for a large agency. In either case, it cuts down a lot of radio traffic and confusion. With Live911, the dispatcher and officer hear the same thing at the same time.”

Dennis L. Snyder Jr.
9-1-1 Services Manager, Morris County Communications Center

Morris County Communications Center supports 32 municipalities and more than 75 law enforcement, fire, EMS, and county entities, each with its own protocols.

Live911 was configured with CAD integration and geofencing at the district and township levels. This helps officers hear calls relevant to their assigned areas while dispatchers continue managing response across multiple municipalities.

For agencies operating across multiple jurisdictions, the goal is not simply access to more information. It is getting the right context to the right responders without adding unnecessary noise.

McCook Police officers can now hear 911 calls live in their squad cars, giving them earlier awareness of developing emergencies.

“Squads can be there before they are dispatched.”
— Deputy Chief Dave Deleshe, McCook Police Department

McCook shares a communications center with Riverside, North Riverside and Brookfield. With Live911, officers can also hear nearby calls when incidents require support across jurisdictions.

What changes when officers can hear a 911 call as it unfolds?

They can hear urgency in the caller’s voice. They can pick up background sounds that may not make it into an initial summary. They can follow changing conditions while they are still en route.

Dispatch remains central to managing the call and coordinating the response. Live911 extends that live context to authorized responders in the field, helping them arrive with a clearer picture of what may be waiting.

Drowning incidents aren't measured in minutes.

They're measured in seconds.

Recently, Volusia County Beach Safety responded to a drowning-in-progress call along Florida's Atlantic coast.

Using Live911, rescue personnel received the call in real time at 1:05:58—more than a minute before dispatch was broadcast.

As responders moved toward the incident, they listened to critical details directly from the caller.

The result?

A swimmer caught in a rip current was rescued and safely brought to shore.

According to veteran lifeguards on scene, the victim likely had only 30 seconds remaining.

Across 47 miles of coastline and approximately 3,000 rescues each year, Volusia County Beach Safety continues to demonstrate how real-time information can help save lives when every second counts.

Public safety agencies generate thousands of hours of mission-critical audio every day, but finding the right information can take hours.

Today at NENA 2026, HigherGround is introducing AutoCall Transcribe

Our new AI-powered capability that converts live and recorded calls into accurate, searchable, time-synchronized text so agencies can:

• Accelerate investigations
• Improve quality assurance processes
• Enhance training and supervision
• Gain faster access to critical information

It’s a major step toward AI-driven call intelligence for Public Safety.

School safety requires immediate awareness and rapid response.

With Live911’s Campus Alert feature, agencies can establish geofenced zones around schools and government facilities that automatically livestream relevant 911 calls to nearby officers.

That means officers can begin responding while the call is still being processed — providing critical time advantages during high-risk situations.
