As a small business owner, no one tells you about the Technology that you need and when you need it.

A secret of the IT industry is that dispite industry differences, the technology principles and growth stages are nearly universal.
That means that this will work for you and 99.9999% of other businesses as well.
Here are the IT fundamentals that every business should work towards as they grow:
1. IT Partner: Partner with the right-sized IT firm. Pick too large of an MSP and you may pay a ton of money and not get the attention that you need. Pick a one-man-shop and you may be limited by experience or availability.
2. Web Domain, Web DNS, and Simple Website: Secure your web domain, set up a simple website or landing page, and establish basic web security with a reliable service.
3. Email: Office 365 or Google Workspace for easy, reliable email.
4. Domain/Identity: Set up Microsoft Entra ID to ensure basic security measures are in place to protect your digital assets. Don’t set up local,
individual accounts on each computer or one account with a shared password.
5. Cloud Files: Implement cloud-based file sharing and collaboration tools to boost productivity with Microsoft Sharepoint or Google Drive.
6. Collaboration: Your team needs a central place to communicate. Use Microsoft Teams or Slack & Zoom.
7. Phones: Use a modern phone solution like Teams Voice, Zoom Phones, Dialpad, or OpenPhone.
8. Computers: Laptops with docking stations or BYOD with virtual desktops for a nimble, modern solution.
9. Base Security: Next-Generation Endpoint Protection, email protection, and Multifactor Authentication (MFA).
10. In-office Network: Internet, WiFi, ethernet ports, IP cameras.
11. First IT Strategy Report: Initial strategy report to understand the scope of your digital journey.
