HTD spun out of a company that began designing and manufacturing high quality audio equipment for many of the biggest brands in home audio in the early 1970's. We leveraged our expertise in designing and producing quality audio gear for others into the creation of our own HTD brand in 1998. The first HTD speakers were sold direct to consumers in January 1999 and Home Theater Direct, Inc. became it

s own company in early 2001. With the advent of the internet, our decision to sell only direct to consumers was easy. Selling direct saves our customers money by eliminating the price increases tacked on by distributors and retailers, as well as by cataloguers and other internet stores. And the close interaction we get with our customers gives us a level of insight for improvements and future products never before imagined. At the same time, this close interaction allows us to provide unbeatable personalized service.
