Over the past several weeks both through email, and here on LinkedIn, we have invited you to step back from the day to day and look at your business from a different perspective.

We hope you took a moment, and some space to pause and reflect.

In that time, we encouraged you:

To consider where small security gaps may have appeared.

To notice the friction that became visible when regular routines changed.

To ask what your team needs to work with greater clarity and confidence.

Now, as we approach Labor Day, we invite you to reflect on what you discovered.

What became clearer this summer?

What deserves your attention now?

What are you ready to change?

What do you want to carry forward into the next season?

For more than 33 years, Progressive Computing has helped organizations throughout New York City and Westchester use technology to address today’s challenges while preparing confidently for what comes next.

We hope The Summer Pause encouraged you to ask a few honest questions, notice something that may have been overlooked, and create space for a fresh perspective.
The pause of summer comes to a close.

The clarity it created does not have to.

Reflect. Recharge. Carry it forward.

From all of us at Progressive Computing, we wish you, your team, and your families a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend.

We've been talking about the pause that naturally happens during summer months. Yes things feel more busy in some ways, with the kids home, and a disruption to the normal routine.

More people are out of the office. Schedules shift. Vacations overlap. It can be difficult to maintain the regular cadence of meetings, projects, and priorities.

As we approach the unofficial end of summer, this is a great time to turn your attention toward your team and prepare them for the season ahead.

Do they have the right tools?

Do they understand the priorities ahead?

Is there technology they are expected to use but have not been fully trained on?

Are outdated systems or processes creating unnecessary frustration?

Investing in your people does not always require a major initiative.

Sometimes it begins by listening carefully, removing one recurring obstacle, or giving someone the support they need to feel more confident.

Before the fall pace begins, pause and ask:

What does our team need from us now?

Could better technology help your people work with greater confidence? Start a conversation with a Progressive Computing technology expert.

What happened when your team slowed down this summer?

When people took vacation, schedules shifted, and fewer hands were available, where did you notice the friction?

Did a process stall because only one person knew how to move it forward?

Was important information difficult to find?

Did your team rely on manual workarounds to keep things moving?

Were people spending valuable time on tasks that should have been simpler?

A change in pace often reveals the small inefficiencies we have learned to work around during busier seasons.

Before everyone returns to their regular routines, take time to notice what gaps the summer season showed you.

You may not need to solve everything before Labor Day. Start by identifying the processes, systems, and recurring frustrations you do not want your team carrying into the fall.

Summer isn’t over yet.

There is still time to pause and find the friction.

Could technology help remove some of the obstacles slowing your team down? Start a conversation with a Progressive Computing technology expert.

Summer vacation season is almost over.

Before everyone returns to their regular routines, this is a good time to look at what may have shifted while schedules were lighter and teams were working from different places.

Did employees access company information from new locations or devices?

Were important updates or security training postponed?

Did someone temporarily take on responsibilities they don’t normally manage?

Are there accounts or access permissions that should be reviewed?

These questions aren’t meant to create fear. They are an opportunity to identify small gaps, reinforce good habits, and prepare your organization for a confident start to the fall season.

Can you carve out a few hours before Labor Day to review your security fundamentals, address anything that needs attention, and make sure your team knows what to do if something doesn’t look right?

Summer isn’t over yet.

There is still time to pause and strengthen your security.

Have you given yourself time to pause this summer?

It’s not too late.

There are still two weeks before Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer and the return to fuller calendars, familiar routines, and a faster pace of business.

This quieter stretch offers a valuable opportunity to assess where you are, think intentionally about what’s ahead, and prepare for a strong fall season.

Before summer ends, ask yourself:

What has become clearer over the past few months?

What needs attention before the fall gets busy?

What do we want to carry forward, and what are we ready to leave behind?

Can you carve out a few quiet hours without interruptions, ask yourself a few honest questions, and give yourself the space to look beyond what’s immediately in front of you?

Summer isn’t over yet.

There is still time to pause, reflect, and see the bigger picture.
