I finally got to put together a lil' powered speaker stereo set-up. The Klipsch R-40pm's do not disappoint! 4" woofs at 35 watts had me a little nervous (as always- on a budget) but they do not disappoint! They are extremely clear and even, definitely in the view of a reference speaker, without being too bright, albeit dynamics are a bit lacking. The volume maxes out pretty early on but the sound is so clear and powerful that you can clearly hear in ANY room of the house. A more colorful speaker would sound bassy and muffled outside of the living room. A sub would round these off perfectly. The TEAC TN-280BT-A3 turntable was the cheapest legit tt I could find, anti skate and counterweight adjustment, removable headshell, etc. I got a fresh Orotfon 2M Red installed and it sounds pretty good. And no I won't be using Bluetooth for the turntable connection, I wouldn't dare! Future additions of a sub, a DAC, and a phono pre are most likely in the future. Anyone else get absolutely stoked about wire management?! Damn that was fun.

The best part? She absolutely loves it! Big points on this one 😆

Talk Less from Akron. Emo is alive and well! I was stoked to catch this band at Musicia last weekend. It was pretty silly how excited I got to hear live ride bell taps and chiming guitars. Damn good band.

I'ma 90's kid, and punkers Braid from Champaign Urbana got me started and then it was a bunch of Polyvinyl and Saddle Creek bands- Promise Ring, Japandriods, Hum, Hey Mercedes, Rainer Maria, Compound Red, Hot Water Music, Appleseed Cast. Which led to classics like Drive Like Jehu, Silkworm, Rites of Spring, Jawbox. And in the mid 2000's the Forecast out of Chicago was fu***ng awesome. Sunny Day??? Fuuuck so good.

Sarge was more punk than emo but definitely had the moody vibes and ran in the same circles. I have to mention them because they are one of my absolute favorite bands.

Thankfully in the early 00's I got into more metal and post hardcore, because being so damn emotional does get old eventually. Jawbreaker made me a lil' bitch 😆

New plugs! Happy to announce that there was a positive result to this summers tariff f**kery of out of stock parts and perpetual inflation in helping me to decide to upgrade my RCA plugs. If we have to pay more, we might as well get a better quality product. (It's only a couple bucks each cable but dang I hate increasing prices).

I'm super happy with the Neutrik Rean new RCA plugs. The strain relief is strong, the shell is robust and the grip and connection is secure, all while looking slick as hell!
