Tech Tip
Red flags that email isn't from who you think it's from:
🚩 Your boss suddenly texts like a teenager
🚩 "Urgent" "ASAP" "Don't ask questions"
🚩 They're asking for gift cards (???)
🚩 DocuSign request from [email protected]
🚩 Vendor's bank info "changed" via email
🚩 Your gut saying "this feels off"
Pro tip: Your boss is not going to fire you for taking 30 seconds to verify a weird request.
Your boss may when you wire $50K to a scammer.
Before you click, send money, or share info:
1. Check the actual email address (not just the display name)
2. Call the person directly (don't use contact info from the email)
3. Ask yourself: "Am I being rushed?"
If yes → slow down, If no → verify anyway
Gift cards are for birthdays, not business expenses.
