Farwell American Legion Hosts Flag Day Celebration

Sunday, June 14, The American Legion Post 558 will host a celebration of Flag Day. The activities start at 2pm including refreshments, picnic on the grounds, gifts for children and a moving ceremony demonstrating the proper disposal of worn out and unserviceable flags.
Flag Day is observed annually on June 14 and commemorates the 2nd Continental Congress adoption of "Stars and Stripes" as the official national flag. Our flag was a crucial rallying point for American forces during our fight for independence. The flag demonstrated to the world that the United States was a sovereign, unified nation.
The American Legion located at 400 E Ludington, Farwell is OPENTO THE PUBLIC that day. The ceremonies will include all children that are present; please plan to honor your nation, those who served America and our great flag by attending this ceremony.
