Alcidion

Alcidion Alcidion provides smarter solutions for clinicians. Alcidion provides active intelligence and decision support software for high performance healthcare.

With our FHIR-events platform, Miya Precision, we assist healthcare organisations in building interoperable digital ecosystems that liberate data to enhance patient outcomes. Alcidion is an innovative health informatics company that specializes in clinical products that improve productivity, safety and efficiency. By making clinicians more efficient, eliminating key clinical risks, tracking patien

t progress through journeys within and between healthcare facilities and making recommendations about patient care to the care team based on complex analysis of the clinical and administrative context for each patient, the patient flow, patient safety and organisational efficiency can all be improved and key critical risks eliminated. Alcidion has created the Miya Platform, which uses a Decision Support Engine (DSE) to actively monitor electronic data feeds to detect emerging risk to patients and to the organization. Miya can provide guidance to the right people to mitigate risk before harm occurs.

Last week’s Smart Health Asia conference offered an inspiring view of what lies ahead for health systems across the region.

The quality and depth of conversation throughout the event was a genuine highlight, with health leaders coming together to address the challenge of meeting rising capacity demands while continuing to raise the standard of patient experience – no easy feat, but achievable with smart investments, committed people and strategic long term thinking. We saw all of those elements on display and more.

Alcidion Group Managing Director and CEO Kate Quirke joined a panel discussion on ‘Redefining Excellence and Driving Change Across Smart Hospitals in Asia,’ contributing to an insightful conversation about how technology can help shape the future of care.

Yesterday Alcidion’s Adam Nabali opened the ACHSM QLD DG Budget Breakfast to a full house. 🏡

There is clear, tangible momentum this year to tackle some complex challenges Queensland and many other regions have long been working to resolve, with goals to reduce ambulance ramping, stabilise waitlists and “boldly change the narrative” towards patient safety and whole-patient journeys.

It is encouraging to see patient flow and access improvements recognised as a key enabler of these goals and we look forward to playing a meaningful role in supporting Queensland health systems as they continue to deliver the highest quality care for their communities.

We're looking forward to joining healthcare leaders at the ACHSM Queensland DG Budget Breakfast this Thursday in Brisbane 📍

Dr David Rosengren, Director-General of Queensland Health, will be sharing firsthand insights into the 2026-27 health budget and the strategic direction for Queensland's health system.

Adam Nabali will be saying a few words on behalf of Alcidion ahead of the Director-General's address. With more Queensland health services now relying on our technology in hospitals, we can't wait to see what the next year brings for patients, clinicians and carers across the state.

If you're attending, come and say hello.

"Adoption won't happen if the clinicians aren't embedded and empowered."

Alcidion CCIO Tracy McClelland recently joined a panel hosted by the EPR Network to explore why clinical champions and super users are so critical to getting real value from EPR (Electronic Patient Record) programmes.

The conversation reinforced something we see across every deployment: technology provides the capability, but trusted, informed clinicians are the ones who turn that into lasting change on the ground. They spot workarounds before they become embedded, translate digital tools into clinical language and keep optimisation moving long after go-live.

Watch the recording to learn:
- the warning signs that an EPR is creating extra work rather than reducing it
- the practical difference between clinical champions and super users
- what the future looks like for clinicians in enabling digital success - “Digital is part of clinical life now.”

Alcidion has signed a 7-year contract with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex) to deploy the Miya Precision Electronic Patient Record (EPR) platform.

Under the agreement, Alcidion will deploy its flagship modular Miya Precision platform, alongside Miya Observations and Assessments (Patientrack), which is already live at the trust.

The scope of modules includes virtual care, marking the first time an NHS trust has included Alcidion’s virtual care module as part of their EPR. This will support provision of care and remote patient monitoring for patients that may otherwise need to be treated in hospital.

This represents Alcidion’s third EPR platform contract and further supports our growing presence in the UK healthcare market. Alcidion Group Managing Director and CEO, Kate Quirke, said:
“This is an exciting step in our relationship with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust and we look forward to continuing to work closely together to support their digital transformation strategy.”
