LIFE PIVOT! I have so enjoyed being a little unique shop in the heart of (with the BEST neighbors, , who are anything but grouchy)…BUT as we all know, life ebbs and flows, and shortly after I moved into my sweet little space, Van and I became foster parents to not one, but two children within a matter of weeks. Holy life flip, Batman. The last two years have been a roller coaster of emotions, appointments, unpredictability and additional requirements personally – in addition to the insanity of the changes COVID brought into the professional workspace. They have also been SO. FULL. OF. LOVE….and LEARNING…and FAITH.
As I neared the end of my lease, we were listening for direction on which way I should go professionally. I have prayed and pondered, and I know that in this season, my best direction is to be “support staff” for my precious family instead of pursuing, maintaining, marketing, budgeting, buying, and all the other -ings that a retail space and small business demand. While of course this transition is a little bittersweet, I feel confident in the direction the Lord has led me, and I am excited for this new season.
HOWEVER…The Olive Shoe will not be going away. I am THRILLED to be joining Indigo Custom Framing and Artisan Market as one of their artisans, and I am equally as excited to move some of my favorite unique brands, gifts, and goodies over to Backstreet Beauty Salon. I’ll be stopping by both of these sweet spots to fluff and refresh goods a couple of times a month. These are two of my favorite little spots in Anderson!
…and FINALLY…go give .art a follow if you’d like to follow along as I take this gift of an opportunity to focus more on family and developing my passion for creating art of all sizes, multiple medias, and whatever I’m inspired by.
The Olive Shoe will maintain an online presence and return mainly to a lifestyle blog, which is how it began…but you never know what direction it will snowball. Lord knows, He has always laughed at my plans, and His plan has always been much greater than mine!
Xoxo, LAC
