Just finished my latest artwork drawn from photos I took at Morgado Lusitano in Portugal a few months back. I was given the privilege of taking some close up shots of an incredible stallion, Equador. The most dramatic lighting I could find really set his coat off beautifully.
It was an exceptional experience being so close to such a spirited animal rearing and bounding around alongside me in and I left with the hairs standing up on my neck(!) Amazing.

Here’s how I completed a recent portrait of Noggie, a beautiful Fjord pony that I had the pleasure of drawing. The colours were to tie in with an existing portrait of another of the owners horses. Photo was courtesy of Iskas Images!

Really loved working on this oil painting last year, especially on his muzzle. It was a huge A1 sized commission for a birthday present which went down a storm!
This was taken just before I added the fine hair and whiskers 😄
