The creative direction for this campaign was inspired by the concept of a "well-loved novel" - layered, atmospheric, and deeply rooted in the magic of community storytelling. This design is the first instalment of a visual series that will unfold as we approach the event dates.

A Village of Stories: Bathurst Prepares for June Bathurst Bookfair
Bathurst is a place defined by its stories, and this June, those stories take center stage. From June 5th (Friday Evening ) to 7th (Sunday Afternoon), our village will host the annual Bookfair, inviting locals and visitors alike to step into a weekend dedicated to the heritage of the written word.

Under the theme "A Village of Stories," the event celebrates the unique character of Bathurst. The streets and stalls will become a haven for those who appreciate the weight of a physical book, featuring an extensive collection of vintage editions and rare finds. It is an invitation to slow down, to browse, and to rediscover the tactile joy of leafing through history.

The weekend promises more than just books. With live music drifting through the air and local artisans showcasing stationery and traditional crafts, the fair is a reflection of the creative life that thrives from the local area.

In a world that moves too fast, the Bookfair remains a reminder of what makes our village special: the time to talk, the space to wander, and a shared appreciation for the narratives that knit us together.

TeaLeaf & Company
It’s been a rewarding challenge working as the designer behind the refreshed brand identity for TeaLeaf, now operating from the same space as the iconic Pink Lady Milkshake Parlour.

While the two brands serve different audiences and aesthetics, the brief was clear: create a visual partnership — not competition. The result is a carefully layered brand environment where contrast becomes cohesion.

The Pink Lady remains vibrant, bold, and unapologetically retro — a 1950s showstopper with a wink of Hollywood glamour. In contrast, TeaLeaf brings in a refined, more understated tone: think 1940s French-British chic, inspired by timeless elegance and subtle charm. Enter Rita, TeaLeaf’s brand muse — a modern take on the quiet British rose, offering sophistication with soft edges.

Design objectives included:
• Developing a complementary brand identity for TeaLeaf, distinct yet harmonious with The Pink Lady
• Introducing Rita as a character mascot with a visual style grounded in vintage European sensibility
• Creating shared visual elements (palette crossovers, signage, in-store detailing) to ensure brand alignment without dilution
• Supporting both brands’ unique voices through packaging, print collateral, and environmental graphics

This project demonstrates how multiple brands can coexist within a shared space while retaining individuality — a challenge in balance, tone, and storytelling.

Pink Lady Milkshake Parlour
I’m proud to share a recent project close to my heart — the relaunch of The Pink Lady Milkshake Parlour.

Having previously worked on the original branding before the business closed its doors in 2019, I was recently brought back in to evolve the identity for its 2025 reopening. This project involved more than a refresh — it was about restoring and elevating a beloved local icon with a strong existing identity.

The Pink Lady is more than a logo or mascot — she is the brand’s central character and creative anchor. Our goal was to modernise her visual language while preserving the core elements that made her instantly recognisable to the original audience.

Key deliverables included:
• Refined brand palette and typography
• Updated character styling and tone of voice
• Cohesive art direction for signage, print, and digital assets
• Visual storytelling aligned with the original 1950s-inspired aesthetic, modernised for today’s market

This project is a strong example of strategic rebranding that honours legacy while positioning a business for future growth.

A recent identity and business card design for the Bathurst Agricultural Museum

The logo centres on the stylised plough, an emblem of the region’s agricultural history, paired with a clean monochrome layout that keeps the focus on clarity and purpose. The overall design is simple and functional, created to reflect the museum’s heritage while remaining professional and easy to read.

Design that respects the subject and communicates with intent.
