A Picture That Holds a Story
Some pictures are more than just pictures. They carry memories, people, moments and stories that become even more meaningful as the years go by.
This photograph takes us back to around 2008, during one of the marketing campaigns that Khwezi was involved in. At the time, it was simply another day of work a team coming together, doing their part and creating memories without knowing how significant that moment would become years later.
Among the people in the picture is Anele, who was one of the early staff members and, sadly, has since passed away. Looking at the photograph today, his presence makes the picture much more than a record of an old marketing campaign. It becomes a reminder of the people who were part of the journey, some of whom are no longer here to tell the story themselves.
What makes photographs like this special is that we often don’t realise we’re capturing history while we’re living it. In 2008, nobody could have known what the years ahead would bring the growth, the changes, the people who would come and go, and the memories that would remain.
Today, this picture allows us to pause and remember.
Remember the work.
Remember the team.
Remember the early days.
And most importantly, remember the people who helped shape the journey.
Anele may no longer be with us, but moments like this ensure that a part of her story continues to live on.
