All the Techno speak aside if you own or are responsible a server that's connected to the web then have your IT guys ensure its secure with only the required ports open all the rest (there are 65535 TCP ports and 65535 UDP port on every server /PC) only use what you require lock down the rest or you could be part of the problem.
