I have previously dabbled into the wor

ld of Hair Dressing, & have had a career spanning over 12 years in the Financial Environment… but I always felt incomplete & that something was missing in my life. I knew I wanted to paint, draw & take my artistic ideas further on a digital platform. To satisfy my hunger for creativity, I took the strategic and bold step by making a mid-career change returning full-time to University as a mature student at the age of 40. It was a huge personal adjustment & mastering the digital programs proved to be quite challenging at first. Countless sleepless nights watching YouTube tutorials & engaging in other creative learning resources paid of. I completed my 1st year of study as the top student & was rewarded twice with the Absa Outstanding Student Scholarship. 4 Years of fierce commitment culminated in 2019 when I graduated with highest distinction in Graphic Design Bachelors Degree / Summa Cum Laude. Throughout this journey & experience Visual Poetry was born. Graphic Design content which tickle the imagination & spark a conversation. The Tygerberg Art Centre recently turned 50! To celebrate this milestone former learners & teachers took part in an exhibition to pay homage to the rich heritage of the school. As an alumni of the Centre (I studied Textile Design during my High School years), I am very honored for the opportunity to be part of this event. Thank you to the Head Fransonette Swart for your warm welcome & for the acknowledgement of my ventures in the medium of Art. Due to public demand the exhibition has been extended for 3 more weeks, coming to an end on 27 May.
