What is your go to for cleaning and maintaining your equipment?

Here are a few tips to keep in mind for cleaning and maintenance to extend the longevity of your gear:

1. Keep a soft brush handy and dust off at least once a week
2. Brush away from channel fader and pitch control sleeves
3. Keep a microfiber cloth with a bottle of iso alcohol to remove marks and oil deposits left behind from your fingers/skin
4. NEVER use a blower as you may blow dust particles into undesired places like channel fader and pitch control sleeves
5. Use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment if you have one
6. Use a decksaver to cover your gear when not in use
7. Store in flight cases for long term storage
8. Add silica gel packets to your flight cases if stored for prolonged periods of time

5 Rules for Pro DJs 🎧

1. Read the room
Play for the crowd in front of you—not the set you rehearsed at home.

2. Control the energy
Build tension, create peaks, and give people space to breathe.

3. Know your music
Learn every track’s structure, mood, key moments, and best transition points.

4. Prepare for failure
Bring backups: music, headphones, cables, adapters, and a tested emergency playlist.

5. Act like a professional
Arrive early, respect the venue and other DJs, protect your hearing, and never let ego outrank the dance floor.

Going home without either of these can be painful. So, the question is: Which one are you least prepared to give up if you had to lose something?

Have you ever showed up at a gig only to have it cancelled because the previous dj blew the sound?

Redlining doesn’t make the music sound better.

It removes headroom, introduces distortion and sends a compromised signal into the sound system.

More red ≠ more power ❎
Clean levels = clean sound ✅
