𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗯?

The term “metaverse” often brings to mind images of game-like or surreal experiences. From our discussions with potential clients, this is one of the most common perceptions. However, 3D immersive experiences do not need to look or feel like a game.

At MetaPress, we aim to provide immersive 3D websites that reflect a company’s brand positioning similarly to a traditional website. Our goal is to create an engaging and realistic representation of your brand in the 3D environment.

We’ve created a short video to demonstrate how shifting the focus from cartoony avatars to content in a 3D immersive site can change the visitor’s perception. By adding some AI to the mix, we further eliminate the need for a “gamer” background to navigate and appreciate these immersive experiences.

One of our developers decided to play around with ’s awesome wiggle bone library for three.js and integrated it into our avatar system. The result? Some super cool cape physics that turned our default Avatar into a Superhero! 🦸‍♂️✨ Plus, keep an eye out for Bloony making a cameo at the end of the video. We’re excited to share one of our own use cases for MetaPress. Our team has been using MetaPress for all our stand-up meetings and it’s a lot more fun than the standard video or voice call! Since we also use Slack, we thought, why not combine the two? So, we developed a MetaPress Slack Bot to make it easy for others to do the same.

Currently, MetaPress Stand-up! doesn’t offer customisation options. However, if there’s enough interest, we’ll definitely work on adding those features and apply to have it listed in the Slack App Directory. In the meantime, if you want a customised experience, you can point the bot to a website with MetaPress installed.

Last Thursday and Friday at the Africa Tech Week Conference were fantastic! We’re grateful for the amazing engagement with both MetaPress and our AI developments with Web Weaver, as well as the interest shown in Ydangle Apps’ development services.

We introduced a 3D layer to the conference website, enhancing the experience by streaming a live feed of the event and a separate feed from our exhibit into the immersive site. We are often asked if our 3D sites can be viewed with VR headsets. Well, we had some headsets on hand and it was incredible to see attendees’ reactions as they used VR headsets and saw themselves in these live feeds!

Visits to the immersive site exceeded our expectations by attracting over 250 visitors from 15 countries, each spending an average of more than 35 minutes exploring the site.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared their thoughts, and offered insights. Your enthusiasm was inspiring!
Also, heartfelt thanks to the Africa Tech Week Team and Topco Media for organising such a valuable and exciting event.

The success of this conference has further affirmed our belief in the potential of immersive websites to enhance website experiences and real-world events. Exhibitors reach is extended well beyond the confines of the in person event.
