I knew something was up when I could no longer access the old wiki/docs for MikroTik, but it seems like they have silently given the latest (Stable) on ROSv7.20 build the long awaited and much anticipated LTS stamp of approval. It might still lack features/functionality you're after, but it's awesome to see MikroTik is finally saying "Hey this version, it's pretty good. Please use this!"

I'm fairly happy to see MikroTik has appeared to have fixed BGP signalled VPLS with route reflectors running ROSv7 it seems to have been implemented in v7.19.3, though my lab is running the latest test build on v7.20beta6

The change seemed to be labelled "mpls - improved stability when handling VPLS packets" in the changelogs.

I made a post about this a while back that I received an email from MT support saying a bug I logged has been fixed in the next patch and this seems to be it. So yeah... all the things I listed that were really problematic for me at the time of ROSv7's launch has been fixed so I guess I can make an update to my video on YouTube saying it is now pretty much production ready (It has already been for a few years but this is a joke for the workarounds we've had to do) :D

What's new in 7.20beta5 (2025-Jul-03 17:21):

*) bgp - support for Advertising IPv4 Network Layer Reachability Information (NLRI) with an IPv6 Next Hop;

This is a pure v6 "ISP Network" and I can confirm it does learn the routes, which is pretty nice although it doesn't appear to be working 100%. Though that may also be a misconfiguration issue from my end, though higly likely an MT thing too since I saw similar behaviour with RRs and L3VPNs a while back.

Still really nice to see MT added this. I actually saw Kevin Myers post about this before the release notes came out. MT seems to have this habit where they update the docs before sending out the change logs.

This is so freaking cool I love EVPN-VXLAN on MT. I did a pure MT lab and it so cool to see how everything connects and how to the endpoint or hosts it's basically black magic and connecting into an everyday switchport and just sending frames. I was worried the iBGP session between spines was not going to advertise the information correctly but no it works just fine. Tried some LAG as well to see if I can do some load balancing between spines, need to do some stuff from the hosts or leafs even but the basis is there. Tested with ROSv7beta4 (They have made improvements, thanks Kevin Myers for the update earlier :D

(I did see some interesting stuff regarding ESI-LAG on the MT Docs using Arista, not sure if it is doable on MT yet, but it does carry that info across with BGP)

I made a short announcecment over on YouTube on some things I want to do on the channel and just sort of talk about why I make videos on YouTube. The biggest thing to take away from that video is that I want to start doing stuff like live streams again on a schedule.

Lots of stuff I try and figure out and just learn and ultimately end up becoming videos on my channel "TheNetworkBerg"

So if you're into learning some networking things on a network emulation level I think my channel would really be interesting to you, some more info on where/when to catch my streams.

I am looking to start streaming Labbed stuff again on Monday evening (today) from 9PM - 12PM BST / UTC+0, I'll also be doing some fun gaming related stuff on Friday evenings at the same schedule, more info on the video itself in the pinned comments.
