A print by iconic American landscape photographer, Ansel Adams, has sold at auction for almost $1-million, while total sales for a collection of 123 pieces of Adams' work topped $6.4-million at Sotherby's New York and online.

There was a time when photographic prints as an art form were frowned upon by art "elites" and appeared to gain little value over time. It's quite possible that this may no longer be the case and prints, especially from talented photographers, may be steadily increasing in value.
