Tesseract.Js is an Open Source OCR platform that has the ability to extract text from a range of sources and in almost any language. The images are processed using a long short-term memory (LSTM) artificial neural network.

It has the added benefit of being an npm package and docker container so it is easy to install and ensures that we are in control of all security and access to the data.
