Important Protection of Personal Information Act,4 of 2013 (POPIA) Notice

This communication aims to inform you of our approach to data privacy at Grand Communication Networks, and to assure you that we have been working hard in the background to ensure that we comply with POPIA’s 8 conditions of lawful processing.
Grand Communication Networks supports South African privacy legislation and is committed to compliance with our South African privacy laws and where relevant, other privacy laws. We respect your personal information, and as such we have implemented measures to protect your personal information and related rights as laid out in POPIA.
As part of the services, we deliver to you, we have accepted POPIA responsibilities. Accordingly, we updated our policies and processes to ensure that the required governance structures support our efforts to ensure that your personal information is secure and that we comply with POPIA.
Some of the key actions we have taken to protect your personal information include:
• Appointed an Information Officer in line with POPIA requirements.
• Review of third-party contracts where personal information is processed on our behalf for us to deliver services to you.
• Review of our IT infrastructure and systems that process personal information, including the flow of information as well as role-based access to these systems.
• Updated our terms and conditions and privacy notices on relevant channels. Our Privacy Policy can be viewed on our website here: www.grandcom.co.za
• Conducted POPIA and related privacy training to all employees.
