The Black Lives Matter in the US and the Global North raise the question about what this idea-driven movement means within an African context. How do we use this momentum to drive the social justice for marginalised people in Africa - whether they are part of religious, ethnic, linguistic, gender, or sexual minority groups.
For example, in South Africa, the majority of black people are still disadvantaged in the broader society, economy and the workplace. I am part of a marginalised group in South Africa. My new paper offers a nuanced understanding of how integrated my multiple work identities to feel safe at work.
