In light of the upcoming Youth Day on 16 June, Chillisoft would like to take a more meaningful approach to commemorating the day. We are giving 5 young Software Developers the opportunity to win free access to Chillisoft’s Udemy short courses.
Two of the key contributors to unemployment in South Africa are limited opportunities and restricted access to learning. We believe that continued upskilling and certifications can provide young developers with a stronger advantage when seeking employment and building valuable industry skills.
This initiative is also aimed at gathering real-time feedback from active job seekers to better understand how software development companies like Chillisoft can make a greater impact in creating opportunities and reducing barriers to youth employment.
How it works:
Submit your responses to the 5 questions below to: [email protected]
1. Approximately how many job applications and interviews have you completed to date?
2. Have you received feedback on unsuccessful applications/interviews? If so, what feedback was provided to you?
3. Why do you think unemployment remains high among young developers despite IT being considered a critical skill in South Africa?
4. Do you believe apprenticeship and learnership programmes positively impact graduates?
5. What can software development companies do better to create opportunities for youth employment in South Africa?
Submissions open: 12 June – 19 June 2026
Five eligible candidates will be selected and awarded access to Chillisoft’s Udemy short courses. Successful candidates will be contacted directly by the Chillisoft Team.
