In light of the upcoming Youth Day on 16 June, Chillisoft would like to take a more meaningful approach to commemorating the day. We are giving 5 young Software Developers the opportunity to win free access to Chillisoft’s Udemy short courses.

Two of the key contributors to unemployment in South Africa are limited opportunities and restricted access to learning. We believe that continued upskilling and certifications can provide young developers with a stronger advantage when seeking employment and building valuable industry skills.

This initiative is also aimed at gathering real-time feedback from active job seekers to better understand how software development companies like Chillisoft can make a greater impact in creating opportunities and reducing barriers to youth employment.

These locally-based stars, make up the core of South Africa’s 26-man squad for the World Cup. This heavy reliance on domestic talent ranks South Africa in the global top five for the highest number of locally-based players selected for the tournament.

Chillisoft successfully hosted our annual Values Workshop on Friday, 15/05, at the Coastlands Hotel. The event brought together Chillisofters from across the globe, creating an opportunity for the growing team to connect, engage, and strengthen especially with those working remotely.
This year’s theme, ‘Adapting Sustainably,’ focused on embracing inevitable change and how Chillisoft responds and evolves in a sustainable and intentional way. The team reflected on key highlights, challenges, and successes from the past year, celebrating both growth and resilience.
One of the standout sessions of the day was a lively debate-style discussion on the use of AI in production environments. Two teams explored both the advocacy for greater AI adoption and the cautious approach to its implementation. The discussion proved insightful and contributed meaningfully to the company’s ongoing research and conversations around AI.
Another engaging topic explored the generational differences emerging within today’s workplace. Our Gen Z Chillisofters conducted a survey examining workplace expectations, challenges, goals, and experiences across generations. The findings were presented through a fun and interactive ‘Family Feud’-style game, which sparked great discussion and team participation.
The workshop was intentionally designed to be interactive and collaborative, giving leadership valuable insight from the team while also sharing the company’s direction and goals for the year ahead. Overall, the event was a great success, leaving the team energized and excited for what lies ahead.

Traditionally Chillisofters partake in fun challenges, social get togethers and egg hunts before the Easter holidays. This year, our celebrations looked a little different. On Friday, the Chillisoft team came together to prepare and deliver meals and snacks for the children at The David Clark Children’s Home, a division of Durban Child Welfare.
It was a heartwarming initiative, with Chillisofters generously giving their time, items, and money to contribute to the home’s needs/wish list. The day was a true reflection of what can be achieved when a team comes together with purpose.
Of course, we kept the energy up with some well-deserved boerewors rolls and drinks
We encourage other organizations to take part in initiatives like these. Small acts can make a big difference.

Chillisoft's 2025 year-end celebration for our South African team was a fun outing enjoying teamwork and each others' company - both things that Chillisoft is known for.

We kicked things off with an exciting challenge at Mindgame Escape in Umhlanga, where a little healthy competition brought out our problem-solving skills and plenty of laughter. After taxing our brains a bit and (mostly) successfully "escaping the room", we all enjoyed a bit of fresh ocean air along the Umhlanga promenade - some of the team recharged with a walk by the sea and on the pier, while others opted for an ice-cold beer in the village. We ended the event all together again enjoying a delicious meal and great conversation at The Village Table.

The event was a fun-filled, memorable way to close off the year and to celebrate the amazing people who make Chillisoft what it is.

It’s been a busy and productive year for us at Chillisoft and soon it will be time for some of our team to take a well-deserved break to prepare for an even better 2026!

Our Durban office will be officially closed from 24 December 2025 and will re-open on 2 January 2026. And as of today, recruitment for this year is officially closed for new applicants - keep an eye out for announcements when we reopen applications next year. If you are currently in the recruitment process, don't worry, we are continuing with existing applications this week.
