Tonight, I was reminded why I left the corporate world in 2016 and started Community First Network.

Why?
To give back! To all my friends and family who were unfairly forced out of their careers, and had to start their own businesses. Without having the technical skills and support needed.
I did it, so we could survive the storm that would see so many families suffer.

How?
By surrounding myself with good people. Business leaders, community leaders, religious leaders, philanthropists and wonderful people who want to see local businesses thrive.

What?
We ran technical workshops, held business networking meetings, arranged business networking tours etc.

And then Covid took all that away.

What now?
Through a series of wonderful business collaborations, we’ve doing it again and launched the Melkbosstrand Community App - as a central place for residents to find trusted service providers. And for local businesses to enjoy advertising to their LOCAL community.
We’re helping to build our local economy again.

What’s next?
We’re in discussions to launch a few more community apps.

Where? When?
That’s for you to decide.

We're proud to announce a strategic alliance partnership between Community First Network and PeppaComm, the Community App specialists.

Together, we're about to launch the Melkbosstrand Community App.

If you're a resident on Atlantic Beach Links Estate, you'll be familiar with the app and its many features.
We've unlocked a few more features, specifically designed for communities.

We'll answer all the questions of who, why, what and when in the following days, as we cross the T's and dot the I's.

What we can share now is:
- The app will be free for residents and business owners of Melkbosstrand (powered by local business advertising only).
- The app will have its own logo, designed by a local Melkbosstrand resident.
- The app will have a local business directory - with a place for the community to rate the local businesses.
- We're hiring a local Community Manager - to vet EVERY business before they're listed.
- We're hiring a local content manager - to ensure consistent value to residents and business owners
- The app will be powered by local businesses, advertising their specials and promotions directly in the app.
- NO external businesses will be able to advertise in the app!
- ALL NPOs and community organisations will have a voice in the newsletter - and will post events in the Community calendar
- Content for the app will be created by the community, for the community - published by our content manager.
- Local businesses can support the app through purchasing 'merch' supplied by local businesses - where proceeds go directly back to the community (Community before profits).
- You'll have a 1-touch 'click to dial' button to SAPS and other local emergency and essential services
- ALL personal information is protected by the POPIA act and will be treated with the utmost respect.
.. and that's just version 1!

A viral marketing campaign will ensure ALL interested community residents and business owners download the app, so our advertisers can immediately see results from their contribution to helping grow our local community and will continue to fund the project.

There are many other product features we'll roll out based on the results of in-app community polls.
