The difference between Off-Grid, On-Grid, and Hybrid solutions.

Off-Grid
There's no utility electricity like ESKOM available at place of installation and the user solely rely on natural/renewable/alternative energy sources. This means the necessity for solar, wind turbines, or hydro energy generation.

On-Grid
There is a utility electricity supply available and can tie into the alternative energy source. Although there's no need for alternative energy generation, long term alternative energy generation will have a financial benefit. The short term effect however will benefit the user in that the immediate financial outlay will be much less. On this method the user will charge the batteries via the inverter with electricity.

Hybrid
This is where solar and utility electricity is used to charge batteries on/or run off utility electricity.

Example: A normal on-grid package from Shield Labs will be R27000, a hybrid solution R36000, and an off-grid solution can be around R125000.
