The south african school learners edu-tab sasle®️ will be managed through Android Enterprise, integrated with a secure Mobile Device Management (MDM) or Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) platform.

With an initial rollout of two million sasle®️ First Edition devices, manual setup and password-based management are not practical. A centralized enterprise management system is essential to ensure secure, efficient, and scalable deployment.

Zero-Touch Enrollment

All sasle®️ tablets will be pre-registered during manufacturing using Android Zero-Touch Enrollment. On first startup, each device will automatically enroll into the Department’s management platform, where security policies, educational applications, and device settings will be applied without manual configuration.

This approach enables fast deployment, consistent security, and simplified multi-device management system.

The device provides access to educational resources available through the Learning and Teaching Support Material (LTSM) e-Catalogue, including PDF, ePub, and HTML5 content. Learners can access these curriculum-aligned materials both online and offline, ensuring uninterrupted learning regardless of internet connectivity.

Only 2 million First Edition South African School Learners Edu-tab-sasle® devices will be made available nationwide. Sales will be conducted strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, making this a limited-release educational technology initiative.

sasle®️ National Online Pre-Order System

The South African School Learners Edu-Tab-sasle®️ will be introduced through a controlled national online pre-order system designed to ensure responsible, efficient, and sustainable deployment across South Africa.

The sasle®️ programme will follow a demand-driven procurement model, where devices are imported strictly according to verified online pre-orders. This approach reduces financial risk, prevents excess inventory and unnecessary warehousing costs, improves production planning, and supports a scalable national rollout.

Out of approximately 13.7 million school learners in South Africa, the initial rollout phase will begin with 1 million sasle®️ devices. These will be allocated exclusively through the official online pre-order system as the first phase of national deployment.

The strategy is designed to verify real national demand, build a structured waiting list, align manufacturing and imports with confirmed orders, enable fair and phased provincial distribution.

This feature is fully integrated into the sasle® App, allowing learners to seamlessly switch between reading and listening to their study materials.

With just a simple tap, learners can have textbooks, notes, and other learning resources read aloud to them transforming the sasle® into an interactive audio-visual learning device.
