Desktop Engineer / IT Support Specialist (Cape Town)
AE Soft is seeking a highly skilled, professional, and customer-focused Senior Desktop Engineer / IT Support Specialist to join our growing technical team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing onsite and remote technical support services across customer environments while ensuring the smooth operation of desktop infrastructure, Microsoft platforms, networking systems, video conferencing solutions, and day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide onsite and remote technical support services to end-users across customer environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues.
• Support Windows and Mac operating systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, docking stations, and IT equipment.
• Handle escalated Level 2 and Level 3 support incidents.
• Administer and support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID, Teams, Exchange Online, Intune, and Group Policies.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and internet connectivity issues.
• Deploy and support Microsoft Teams Rooms, Webex, Zoom Rooms, and boardroom AV systems.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.
• Log and track incidents, service requests, and resolutions within the ticketing system.
• Assist with IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 5+ years’ experience in Desktop Engineering, IT Support
• Cisco Networking Certification
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and remote desktop support.
• Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN technologies, and wireless networking.
• Experience supporting enterprise video conferencing and collaboration systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and transport.
