Most operations teams have a feature they haven't got round to using yet. Automated document generation is a common one: the report, the schedule, or the confirmation your team is still doing manually when the system could produce it automatically.
From experience, we've learned that it's not resistance to change, but a time or priority constraint. Defining the task on paper is what unlocks a better setup. And it always feels slower than just doing the work one more time.
Setting aside time to reflect on where the manual hours go is what reveals which areas would benefit most from a new approach. Not all of them at once. Just the one that's costing the most.
Think of it as preparing the ground for a single seed to grow well. Spring is when the flowers show. What carries you through summer, when the end-of-year workload lifts, is what's rooted deeper than that.
One area at a time is enough. Introduce it, let the team feel the benefit, and the next area becomes easier because the case has already been made.
Buy-in doesn't come from planning documents. It comes from one thing that quietly works better than it used to.
For our clients, your account manager knows your setup and can help identify the area that would benefit most. For anyone weighing up that kind of shift, we'd welcome the conversation.
