Why Online backup?

What would you do if you lost all your data?
Online backup and Cloud backup is the solution! We specialise in automated backups into the cloud.
What would happen if you lost all your e-mails? Your photos, videos, music, projects or documents?
All your financial records? Or your complete database? What would happen if you lost your MYOB or Quicken or QuickBooks database?

Statistics tells us that 31% of all computer users have lost all their files at one time or other time in their lives. This can happen in a myriad of ways – not just through hard disk crashes, accidental deletion, physical damage, theft, fire, viruses, etc.

Over 60% of companies who experience such loss are out of business within 6 months. Most people don’t backup properly - either because it takes too much time and effort, they do not know how to do it, or the systems required cost too much. For those that do backup - the backup is usually inadequate - rarely done on a daily basis, and rarely taken offsite for security purposes.

Benefits of our online backup service:

Information that is backed up online is never lost
Even if your computer is lost or stolen
Even if your house or business burns down
Even if your information is destroyed by viruses
No matter what happens to your data – you will always have peace of mind. And the best is – it is done automatically according to your own schedule.

18% of South African’s have lost copies of their backed up data. Don’t be part of this statistic!

According to Kapersky Lab and B2B International, as much as 18% of South African’s have lost data that they have stored to physical media. This includes flash drives, hard drives, DVDs, CDs and similar. Are you still backing up your important data to physical media devices? You could become part of this statistic!

This shocking statistic was revealed in a survey carried out by the 2 companies and they certainly weren’t the only statistics. Below are some more stats that might interest you:
•96% of participants said that they stored their personal photos, documents and passwords on their actual devices.
•Only one third of the participants said that they ever considered making backups of their data in the event of potential loss.
•26% of the participants have not taken any security measures to protect their data.
•5% of participants stated that they had no intention of making security backups in the future either!
•Only 11% of participants actually make use of cloud backup services.
•18% of participants have lost data due to device malfunction, theft and loss.

The findings of this survey are certainly interesting. How do you currently backup your data? If you use a physical storage device, are you ever afraid that this device might malfunction, break or be stolen or lost? While backing up data might seem like a redundant “schlep”, it really doesn’t have to be. With modern cloud backup services you can set everything up to automatically backup your designated files, folders and documents regularly. You don’t even need to action the backup yourself. Just ensure that your computers are logged in and online. That’s it.

At Sumo Backup we offer a variety of cloud backup services where you can backup your data safely and securely to our cloud servers. All data is encrypted for added security. Don’t become part of the 18% statistic – backup to the cloud today! To learn more about our packages and how cloud backup works – get in touch with us at Sumo Backup today.
