DCC Technologies

DCC Technologies DCC is one of Southern Africa's leading Information Communication Technology distribution companies. A DCC branch is soon to be opened in Namibia.

DCC Technologies (DCC) is one of Southern Africa's leading broad-based Information Communication Technology (ICT) distribution companies. DCC delivers ICT products and solutions to resellers spanning micro enterprises to large, established organisations. With its head office in Johannesburg, South Africa, this privately-held 100% channel focused distributor employs over 300 personnel with branches

in Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Botswana. Although its main business is in South Africa, DCC ships products to Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola, and the rest of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). In 1988, DCC entered the market as an ICT commodities distribution company. It has since grown its offering to encompass a broad range of both commodity and high-end business focused solutions. The company has been in existence for over 21 years and has weathered many ICT storms and economic challenges; its longevity a testimony to its success. The company is structured into divisions that address the needs of the markets, with dedicated fully-trained staff supporting the resellers' every need.

There is a moment in most new business conversations where the question comes up. What makes you different?

It sounds simple, but it means something else. Can I trust you when it matters?

In the South African channel, that trust is rarely built in a proposal. It is built in the everyday interactions that come before it. The quote that arrives when promised. The follow-up that happens without being chased. The consistency that removes doubt over time.

As Giselle Bussiahn, provincial business lead: KZN at DCC Technologies, shares: “The trust that actually matters in distribution is not built in the pitch. It is built long before anyone places an order.”

The shape of the channel is changing, but not always in obvious ways at first.

For a long time, the roles were clear. Vendors built, distributors moved, resellers sold. That model still exists, but it is no longer enough on its own.

Today, what partners need goes beyond product and price. It is about support, enablement and the ability to actually build something sustainable.

As Andrew Harris, chief sales and marketing officer at DCC Technologies, explains:

“In some ways, what is emerging is a kind of super-reseller. Not a reseller competing with partners, but a distributor that understands the technologies, builds the practices and supports the go-to-market motion that partners need to succeed.”

Proud to see Ruben Naicker, General Manager SADC at DCC Technologies, featured in the April–May 2026 issue of Channelwise, where he shares his perspective on the role of distribution across the continent.

Ruben highlights how strong distribution networks are critical to unlocking growth in Africa’s ICT sector, enabling vendors to scale efficiently while ensuring resellers have the accessibility, support, and logistics needed to serve diverse and rapidly evolving markets. His input reinforces the importance of local expertise, regional reach, and value-added services in driving sustainable technology adoption across SADC and beyond.

A great reflection of the strategic thinking shaping distribution in Africa today.

It’s easy to get caught up in big ideas about where the channel is going.

But for many resellers, the real challenge is far more practical. Getting a quote quickly. Placing an order without friction. Finding ways to spend less time on admin and more time with customers.

Those small moments shape how business actually gets done.

As Andrew Harris, chief sales and marketing officer at DCC Technologies , shares: “Ease of doing business is quietly becoming one of the most important differentiators in distribution.”

It’s often the small decisions that reveal the most.

In the ICT channel right now, those decisions are getting harder. Pricing is shifting, supply is tighter, and credit is under pressure. For many partners, especially smaller resellers, that uncertainty is felt every day in very practical ways.

What stands out is not who moves fastest, but who stays consistent.

As Andrew Harris, chief sales and marketing officer at DCC Technologies, explains:
“Partners notice who remains consistent and who becomes reactive. Over time, those patterns shape how business flows through the channel.”

His latest opinion piece explores why that quiet consistency is becoming a real advantage in a market under pressure.
