AI + Canva + Graphic Designer

About the Role
We're a young(ish), creative and energetic digital agency based in Johannesburg, and we're looking for someone who is passionate about design, embraces AI and loves bringing ideas to life.
We're after someone who is reliable, loyal, highly creative and thrives under deadlines. You'll have a strong portfolio showcasing your design ability, typography skills and creative thinking across both digital and print media.
Our workflow combines AI + Human creativity, so you'll be comfortable working with modern creative tools while continuously learning and adapting.
Our current tech stack includes:
Canva Pro
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
GIMP
ChatGPT Images (or similar AI image generators)
ElevenLabs AI Voice
Other AI creative tools
You'll also need to be comfortable creating animated videos in Canva Pro and producing AI voice-overs using ElevenLabs.
While training will be provided where needed, we'd love someone who can hit the ground running from day one.
Although this is primarily a remote position, applicants based in Johannesburg North will be given preference should occasional client meetings be required.
Applicants must have:
A reliable, high-speed internet connection.
A high-performance computer capable of handling professional design work.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency across all print and digital marketing material.
• Design compelling creative assets including social media graphics, branding, advertising artwork, presentations and print collateral.
• Create engaging animated content using Canva Pro and AI-powered creative tools.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging AI technologies, social media best practices and modern design techniques.
• Work efficiently while consistently meeting project deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or a related field (exceptional portfolios and proven experience will also be considered).
• Minimum 2 years' professional Graphic Design experience, including at least 1 year working with AI-powered design tools.
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro, ChatGPT Images (or similar AI platforms).
• Excellent typography, layout, branding and conceptual design skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• An impressive portfolio demonstrating your creativity.
• A wicked sense of humour! 😄
