A couple of our developers were lucky enough to attend the AWS Conference last week. The team has benefited from being exposed to amazing conversations and workshops that have opened their minds to new ways of utilising AWS services for our clients.
Head of Development Michelle has broken down the key insights from the day:
1. Agentic AI dominated the day : from the keynote through multiple breakouts, AWS's focus was on making agents easier to build, deploy and scale, alongside real guidance on governing them responsibly as they gain more autonomy.
2. GenAI needs its own observability playbook : traditional monitoring (latency, traffic, errors, saturation) isn't enough; AWS is pushing three added dimensions: cost, safety and quality, as well as recognising that solutions architects are evolving into orchestrators of AI systems rather than pure infrastructure designers.
3. AWS Transform's new AI agent is directly relevant to us : it modernises SQL Server and .NET together to cut licensing costs, closely mirroring our recent .NET conversion but adding a Postgres migration component we havenāt tried yetāmaking it worth a trial.
