A special occasion for a very special record, played back on an iconic Linn Sondek LP-12 that’s just received many hours of my painstaking attention restoring it to its former glory.

Tonight’s reward? “Lonely Sky” on the early American A&M pressing of Spanish Train and Other Stories. I’ve never heard it sound this convincing. Moments like these remind me why vinyl remains the most moving, most human way to experience music.

And honestly… how stunning is this original US cover design compared to the bland black local version? The difference is night and day, just like the sound.

Allow me the grace however to say this: Nothing previously released on commercially available analogue formats will beat this modern remixed and remastered version of Animals. Simply fabulous!
